CGE2K5 and crabs for dinner
20 August 2005We woke up late, but managed to get ourselves to the Classic Gaming Expo 2005 in Burlingame. We’ve never gone before and it was pretty cool! Our friend is part of Digital Press and he ran into us when we were in line to buy our tickets. CGE was held at the Hyatt. Nice hotel!

Mini arcade table games… Ms Pac-Man in all her arcade glory… the Digital Press table (my friend is on the left)… an Atari game that made me laugh…

Cool breezes, bright sunshine…
18 August 2005The weather was PERFECT today. Cool breeze, bright sunshine. A most lovely summer day. I wish the temperature was always that mild. I loved it.
The A’s didn’t play today, but I thought I’d go ahead and share some pictures I took during the A’s vs. Angels series over the weekend.

Bobby, Zito, Zito again, Kielty
See, I still love them! But tomorrow night, I must ask them to win. Please?
I’m sleepy but I need to catch up on some emails. Or maybe eat an ice cream sandwich. Decisions, decisions…

With today’s loss to the Twins, the A’s lost their first series since mid-May (I had to look it up). ALAS! They’ve also dropped to 2nd place in the AL West (the Angels are in 1st), but still maintain a 2.5 game lead over the Yankees for the Wild Card.
And that’s a fanchick version baseball update. 😆
The rest of the weekend went like this… (more…)

We’re in Livermore this weekend, so we got to watch the game. Not that much went on, mind you. After the second inning, we took a dip in the pool and came back to a 1-0 game. Alas. Nothing too exciting to report, although the A’s tried to make it interesting in the bottom of the 9th. Now we’re tied for first again. 😛
Brilliant!

Mulder bday goodness
5 August 2005
Mulder on his way to his 13th win of the season…
Pitching on his birthday for the first time in his career, Mulder (13-5) scattered seven hits in seven innings with three strikeouts and two walks to win his fifth straight decision over eight starts. The 28-year-old has a 2.05 ERA during the streak.
“It was a little weird,” Mulder said. “My parents and everybody is here, so I’m glad I pitched well or I’d be in a bad mood right now.”
I got to watch the Cardinals game today. 😀 But no A’s on TV for me. Alas.
Oakland 5, Kansas City 4 at Kauffman Stadium
Winning pitcher – Joe Kennedy (6-8)
Losing pitcher – Jeremy Affeldt (0-1)
SV – Huston Street (13)
Oakland Runs: 5, Hits: 8, Errors 0
Kansas City Runs: 4, Hits: 8, Errors 0
HR: OAK: D. Johnson (9) KC: J. Buck (7)
Oakland Record:(62-47)
Fifteen freakin’ games over .500!!! The A‘s are awesome, no matter what. But their second half surge of winning makes me smile. It’s baseball heaven for this A’s chick. 😉
And what else is baseball heaven? A win for my favorite player. 😉 (more…)
