With today’s loss to the Twins, the A’s lost their first series since mid-May (I had to look it up). ALAS! They’ve also dropped to 2nd place in the AL West (the Angels are in 1st), but still maintain a 2.5 game lead over the Yankees for the Wild Card.

And that’s a fanchick version baseball update. 😆

The rest of the weekend went like this…

My cousins and I had lunch in lovely Walnut Creek, then checked out different stores along the way. Twas a LOVELY afternoon– warm sunshine, cool breeze. A welcome change from the triple digit weather we’ve been suffering the last few weeks. 😉

In the Coach store (Coach is becoming my utter weakness), I found a couple of things I wanted. I ended up with the CHELSEA NUBUC DEMI and the COACH SOHO MINI SIGNATURE CARD CASE (which I’m using as a wallet). I really really really wanted the MADISON SATIN MINI TOP HANDLE. It would be so perfect for the wedding in September (since we’re wearing black and the mini is black). Alas, the price was just too much for an occasion purse ($298!!!). I like spending, but I couldn’t really justify it. And yet, I still want it. Aaack! 😆

It was great spending time with my cousins. I miss talking with them, even though we email each other almost every day during the week. Sometimes you just want the conversation to flow and it’s much better doing that kind of stuff in person.

I went to sleep so late last night/early this morning. 4am? Way late! I finished reading the book I brought (three novellas in one). It wasn’t as, umm, satisfying as the other 3-story book I read last week. Oh well! But it’s definitely good research for my own story. 😉

Before today’s game, I took a dip in the pool. Sunshine, cool air, warm water. The best way to spend a Sunday morning. Except the dogs were going nuts because the surrounding neighbors either had their own dogs out or were cutting their lawns (ahh, the scent of freshly cut grass!) or were in their own pools. I let the dogs back in after awhile and enjoyed the backyard all to myself. Heavenly.
