Well, at least Zito ended his season above .500.

We got our issue of ESPN the Magazine. Yah! Pictures along with the fantastic Mychael Urban article. I love reading his articles (and book!). He has such a great perspective on Mulder, Zito, and Hudson. The pictures are great too. The hubby says Mulder has a Treo. I can definitely see Zito’s Treo and Hudson’s Sidekick. How cute to think of them texting each other. 😀

Now it’s just a game

small consolation LA Angels 1, Oakland 6 at McAfee Coliseum

Winning pitcher – Danny Haren (14-12)
Losing pitcher – Paul Byrd (12-11)

LA Angels Runs: 1, Hits: 6, Errors 1
Oakland Runs: 6, Hits: 7, Errors 0

Oakland Record:(86-72)

So really, I still found a bit of joy in watching a bit of the game. It just sucks that it doesn’t really mean anything. It’s just a baseball game now. No goal beyond the nine innings. Just the nine innings.

Sucks.

Three-way calling by Mychael Urban – A very cool article on Mulder, Zito, and Hudson. It’s nice to see that they’re all still keeping in touch. You won’t be able to see the whole article if you’re not part of the ESPN Insider. You can also read the article in the current ESPN the Magazine. Go Mychael! 😉 I might be sneaky later and post a little bit of it. Hmmm…

Eliminated

the shatter of dreams LA Angels 4, Oakland 3 at McAfee Coliseum

Winning pitcher – Ervin Santana (11-8)
Losing pitcher – Joe Kennedy (7-13)

SV – Francisco Rodriguez (43)

LA Angels Runs: 4, Hits: 10, Errors 0
Oakland Runs: 3, Hits: 8, Errors 0

HR: LAA: B. Molina (15)
HR: OAK: M. Scutaro (9)

Oakland Record:(85-72)

So there it is. Five games left to play and nothing to really play for. Pride? Sure. Stats? Why not. But there will be no champagne for the A’s, no battles to get past the first round in the playoffs. No playoffs for the A’s. They get to go home and start their off season early.

I sound bitter, eh? I’m not ready to look back and marvel at their midseason turnaround. I want to let this disappointment wash over me. I want to be a little angry at them. I want to be sad.

I’ll get over it, I always do. And really, baseball isn’t totally over. After all, the Cardinals are going to the post season and with them, Mark Mulder. Since he’s my favorite baseball player, it’s all good. He just better play his heart out!

Slipping away…

I feel it, the A’s season is slipping away. Sometimes I wonder if it’s better to know sooner than a week before it ends.

So let me talk about Prison Break first. Read the rest of this entry »

This game was televised in HD. One of the only bright spots of watching it this evening. Otherwise, it was just a bummer.

I spent most of my early day working on the pictures from my sister’s wedding. Looking back in the pics made me wish for the moments again. The good thing about capturing the moments? I suppose. I still haven’t watched my video footage. Ye gods!
