Weekends fly…
6 November 2005I’m on pace with my story. Not too bad! It’s going along. I think listening to my iPod helps me with the writing. For the latest installment, I was listening to Elvis. 😆 So far I’ve written just over 10,000 words. Neat, eh?
I’m still working on the hotties…
2 November 2005Fret not, wah, I am still working on the List of Hotties/Sweeties. I’ve decided the long version would be more fun, but it’s going to take me longer. Especially with the story writing. 😉
Speaking of– National Novel Writing Month has begun! I am once again attempting to write a novel in one month. Since I hardly started last year’s story, I’ve decided to continue from where that story ended. I wonder, is that fair? I swear, I did not work on that story after November 30, 2004 until November 1, 2005.
So far I’ve written 3071 words. Scary! 😀 So if my blog and LJ seem a bit sparse, it’s because I’m working on my story! The link is on the side there or you can click on The Romantic Misadventures of Deputy Colby Davenport.
Baseball 2005 is over…
27 October 2005Well, it was over almost a month ago for me, but for the rest of the world, it was over last night. The Chicago White Sox swept the Houston Astros. Congrats to the White Sox! Alas to the Astros!
And many congratulations to World Series MVP, Jermaine Dye!!! 😀

“Brown World” by Harry Connick Jr.
25 October 2005Harry is playing on my iTunes…
– Click on the picture to watch Princeton in action from last week. He belongs to a couple at work. This is from his second visit. The first time he came around, he slept. Second time around, he was on a leash and curious. He’s a cutie. 😀
– And that is my new toy! The 60GB 5th generation iPod. In black. It’s sooooo cool. It’s thinner than my old iPod and holds oh so much more. I’ve got some videos and pictures loaded on it, along with lots of music. 😉 Have I said how much I love it? Well, I love it! Now I just need to figure out how to get some of my videos (like stuff I do on my phone and what not) onto the device. 😛
I’ve been spending a lot of time on my livejournal. I think it’s because my friends have livejournal too and we’re having fun commenting on each others’ posts.. But you know, I like when I get comments here too. 😉 Livejournal is just more community driven, eh? Here I think I just babble for my own amusement. 😆

Remembering Bill King…
22 October 2005A few more articles and memories…
Fans, friends, players recall his diverse interests – by Susan Slusser
The good friend I never really knew – by Robert Buan
The man behind the mike – by Ray Ratto
Baseball shone its light upon me in 1986. I remember sitting in my room at night, listening to the games and keeping score in my own peculiar way. I could visualize the game with each word delivered by Bill King. He was the voice who guided me through the game, its players, its rules, its nuances.
I didn’t realize until recently how truly wonderful Bill King was as an announcer. It wasn’t just the way he called the game, it was the way he presented the game to us. If you were a fan of the visiting team, you were treated to an balanced kind of broadcast. Both teams got equal time and attention. There was no “And the good guys are coming up to bat” or anything like that. He was more than the home team broadcaster. He was the baseball broadcaster.
Most of the A’s broadcasters are the same way (to me), but Bill King was the best of them. I don’t want to turn on my radio and not hear his voice giving me the play by play. I don’t know how I’ll feel at that moment next spring. Probably still just a little sad.
Just a dull ache…

Mulder ready to hand off the ball…
Thank goodness it’s Thursday night! Tomorrow is Friday and hopefully it’s a short workday. We shall see. It’s been an interesting week so far. 😛
So I think I’m quite recovered from last night’s game. It just means that the baseball season is OVER for me. I’m not sure if I even care who will win the World Series. Does any outside of Houston and Chicago care? Exactly! 😛
As the husband says, it’s football season now! 😆
OH MY GOSH!!! Rick Springfield is going to reprise his role as Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital. GH was the first soap opera I watched daily and Dr. Noah Drake was my first soap opera hunk crush. I must record his appearance! 😀 I can’t believe he’s freakin’ 56. YIKESY!
Just a little heartbroken…
19 October 2005Well, at least the folks in St. Louis got one more game in the old stadium.
Mulder just didn’t have his stuff and the team couldn’t score any runs. Just one. Wasn’t enough.
How long before spring training?
