Work dreams?

2 April 2004

<== I love these smilies! LOL! Anyhoo, I had a dream about SRJ. My friends have been emailing me some gossip and I dreamt about it! I had emailed them back right before bed, so I guess that’s why it was in my head. (Hey, that kinda rhymes.) Twas a weird dream. I wasn’t working there anymore, but I was in the office. Strange! A big HOWDY! to Josh, who tagged here. I miss ya! 😀

Alas, no Friday Five today. 🙁 It’s been so long since I’ve done one!

Spring Training 2004 Notes

Mulder anxious for season – Hey, it’s a Mulder article. Gotta give some Mulder love. 😉

Mmmm, garlic fries!

1 April 2004

A’s 7, Royals 8 – Oh well, not a good outing for Mr. Mulder. Blah!

Oakland Athletics starting picher Mark Mulder throws against the Kansas City Royals in the fifth inning Thursday, April 1, 2004, at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Ariz. Mulder gave up seven runs, six of them earned from 10 hits in five innings as the Royals beat the A's 8-7 in exhibition play. (AP Photo/Ted S. Warren)

Val, why did you have to mention garlic fries. Now I can almost smell them! LOL!

I was just in one of my dresser drawers and I found my Opening Night pin from last season. It was exactly a year ago! Ye gods! (They won their first game, btw.) I would love to go to Opening Night next week. There’s still a chance, isn’t there?

WRITING SOMETHING

I got off my routine a bit today. Not good! But I did write a little bit, so I guess that’s good. I think I shouldn’t have done so much emailing. 😛

TV STUFF

American Idol – I must say, what in the world did the voters listen to the other night?! How was John Stevens not booted? Not only that, he wasn’t even in the bottom three? How in the hell did La Toya get to the bottom three?! What exactly are people listening to? Either I stop watching the freakin’ show or I need to start voting. And my vote goes to La Toya. Must vote for the local girl! American Idol voters are CLOWNS! Why is John Stevens getting so many votes?! Do people really think his performances are as good as La Toya or Amy or Jennifer or Fantasia or Jasmine or even George? Hell, even Jon Peter Lewis sounded better.

This is why I watch Nashville Star. Now there is REAL talent.

THE PLACE FORMERLY KNOWN AS “WORK”

I’ve gotten a few emails from my former co-workers. I hope they keep me in the gossip loop. It’s like I’m there. I really do miss interacting with a lot of them. Alas!

Looking back once more...

A’s 5, Mariners 10

31 March 2004

Just five more days until Opening Night. I can’t wait! 😀

I did a bit more writing today. The story is slowly coming along. I really need to think about how I want to structure my day. Not working is definitely an adventure! 😉

A’s 7, Brewers 6

30 March 2004

I want to go to Opening Night! 😀

But I probably won’t. It’s the National Championship and the Husband wants to watch it in the comfort of his home, as opposed to the noisy bar at the Coliseum.

Today I started writing a story set , oddly enough, in a jail. LOL! Actually, the people work at the jail. In the booking office. I tried to write one of those before but it just wouldn’t come out right. I’m trying again because the baseball story doesn’t want to itself written yet. Blah!

We hit the mall today and walked around. Malls are so much nicer on weekdays while school is still in session. 😉 I didn’t buy anything except for some candy at Sweet Factory. The Husband bought some shirts at JC Penney. They’re nice!

Yes, a boring Tuesday, eh?

A’s 6, Mariners 5 (Monday)

30 March 2004

listening to... “I Know How to Love You” by Tim McGraw

There’s talk that Mark Ellis won’t be playing this season, but the official A’s site doesn’t say anything about it. Do I believe ESPN? I’ll be very sad if Ellis doesn’t play. Alas!

Okay, off to answer some emails and start my writing routine. 😀

My first Monday FREE!!!

29 March 2004

I woke up at 0730 hrs today. Now I feel like taking a nap but I can’t! Oh well!

HQ

We headed out to Oakland this morning so that I could take two minutes to turn in my check-out sheet and my ID. I spent time chatting with my friend as I was walking out! I probably could have just mailed to stuff to them since I had already done my retirement paperwork. Blah!

AND NOW THAT I’M UNEMPLOYED?

The favorite question is “so what are you going to do now?” It’s a fair question, I suppose. My answer was usually “I’m going to take a month off and then find something closer to home.” Easy answer.

But really, what am I going to do? The possibilities are infinite! But in about a month, I really do need to find something that will bring money into the house. My plans are to relax, do some writing, and watch baseball games! And yes, I will be watching some baseball games. 😀

In the more broader future, I’m still not sure. But I won’t think about it for at least a week. Maybe…

BASEBALL!!!

I want to go to Opening Night! I’ll probably end up watching it on tv. I don’t know when I’m going to go to my first A’s game. I have tickets for Photo Day, but I want to go to a game before that! 😛 We shall see.

It was great watching the little bit of the game yesterday. Jen, I didn’t know the game was on tv either! Lucky thing my hubby was channel surfing while I was at the bridal shower yesterday. 😉

But Zito, up to bat. LOL!

LAST DAYS…

I haven’t emailed my former co-workers, but just in case they read this (yeah right!), my pictures from my final week at work are now online! 😀

Last Days at SRJ

There are a couple of pictures of me in uniform, but the rest are me in my regular clothes with various people I used to work with…

I AM HERE…

I’m in Concord right now. It’s weird blogging on someone else’s computer, but it’s fun, I suppose. I guess I should keep writing and not listen to the office chatter around me. 😉 But it’s fun to just eavesdrop a bit…

I so want to take a nap! 😛
