Hump day scores and musings…
12 May 2004
Oakland 2, Detroit 1 at Comerica Park
Winning Pitcher – Rich Harden (2-2)
Losing Pitcher – Jeremy Bonderman (3-2)
SV – Arthur Rhodes(7)
OAK Runs: 2, Hits: 4, Errors: 0
DET Runs: 1, Hits: 7, Errors: 1
Oakland Record: (17-16)
Woohoo, a win for the boys! Now they’re over .500. I love it! 😀
Blogger things
I’m not sure I like the way this new phase of Blogger archives daily posts. It looks icky if you click on the archived page because it’s in its own folder, which messes up the formatting of the page. I am not going to sit here and add the css file to each and every file that has the page. Maybe not I have to do one of those absolute link things when I format my pages. Pain in the ass!
Otherwise, I like all the new stuff. I’m really into the whole emailing a post to the blog. I really wish it had been up and ready when I was in Hawaii. I would have loved posting from my Blackberry while I was sitting at breakfast overlooking the blue blue water.
I miss Kauai!
Hump day…
I think it’s a little odd that I still keep track of the days like I’m working. Hump day? It should just be another day. Not a weekend day, but just another day. Yet I still keep track of it as if I’m out there pounding the pavement. Oh well.
I like this not working thing. Unemployed. Wow, it’s still an interesting sensation. Oh, but I’m definitely enjoying it. 😀
Anniversary thank you cards are out!
I finally got off my lazy butt and finished off our thank you cards last night and they went off into the mail today. Woohoo for me! So now I can officially point out the link to the pictures from our party.
Yes, I’ve been married for TEN YEARS. If we were a celebrity couple, we’d probably be considered OLD. LOL! 😛 But nah, we’re just a normal (somewhat) couple who actually cherish our lives together. Wow, that sounds totally sappy. 😛
And I was about to post, but…
Our internet went down! The husband thinks it’s a coincidence that the internet went down just as he was about to play his Playstation2 game. Hmm, but is it a coincidence? We shall see…
A long time coming…
11 May 2004I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to send thanks to those who have visited and commented on my weblog. You all ROCK! Here we go…

JumpDrive Secure woes
I bought the 256MB Lexar JumpDrive Secure because I wanted something small to work files between my PC and my PowerBook. I thought, why not one of those groovy thumbdrives? Yeah right.
The device works super in the PC. The Safeguard program pops up right away and everything is groovy. But when I stuck the drive into my PowerBook, nothing happened. Grrr!
Hopefully something can be done because I really like the thought of having a thumbdrive to use between my two machines.
Of course, I could just use my iPod, assuming I don’t actually fill up the whole thing. (And we really shouldn’t asssume that since I’ve already used over half of my iPod’s capacity.) But it’s rather genius if I use my iPod. I can connect it to my PowerBook, listen to the music on it and write documents that I can save to my iPod. And then I can come back to my PC and edit the documents here too.
But I still want the thumbdrive to work!
TechTV and G4
The FAQ at what will be the new site when they become one on May 28th.
Looks like almost all my favorite TechTV shows are going along for the ride. The most glaring omission is Call For Help. NOT FAIR! They must have Leo there!!! Maybe he can slide back over to The Screen Savers. Not that I don’t like the current trio of Patrick, Kevin, and Sarah. But LEO, we must have Leo!
Oakland Athletics : Boxscore
11 May 2004I haven’t gotten my postgame email, so go read the boxscore. 😉
Go A’s! Another extra innings game and after 15 they got the win. I like it!
Watching the game and fiddling with the PowerBook
11 May 2004I really like my PowerBook. 🙂
I’m writing on my Blackberry. A test kind of thing. I’m hoping it doesn’t do that strange line break thing.
The A’s/Detroit game is on, bottom of the 13th. Extra innings games are fun to watch. :). It’ll be nice if the A’s win. More later!
Writing from my Gmail account…
10 May 2004I’m testing out the new email to blogger thing. I know it works, but I want to see how it looks coming from a web-based email account. 😛
I did a stupid thing and republished my whole weblog. So now if you go back through the archives, they all have the same layout as this page. I’m sad! I knew I should have taken those screenshots of my weblog before. 🙁
So let’s see how this looks before I go to sleep…
Whoa, new look to Blogger!
9 May 2004I’m a little taken aback by Blogger’s new look, but I wanted to post about today before I started exploring the new digs. Hmm, kinda spiffy!
I hope it works on my PowerBook. 😉
Baseball first!
Minnesota 4, Oakland 8 at Network Associates Coliseum
Winning Pitcher – Mark Mulder (3-2)
Losing Pitcher – Kyle Lohse (1-3)
MIN Runs: 4, Hits: 6, Errors: 3
OAK Runs: 8, Hits: 11, Errors: 2
Oakland Record: (15-16)
Woohoo, Mulder won! 😀 A complete game at that. Lovely. 😉

Dinner at Haps
We had a very nice dinner at a restaurant called Haps in Pleasanton. Fancy! The service was great and the food was EXCELLENT!
Al Davis walked in near the end of our dinner. Weird!
The restaurant was lovely though. I had filet mignon, medium. Delicious!
Survivor All Stars
Well, I’m going to vote for Colby. Or Rupert. I’m not sure yet. I think I’ll wait and see the videos that are supposed to be online tomorrow morning. 😛
And I must say, some people on that show are whiny hypocrites.
Congrats to Amber. I think I wanted Rob to win though. LOL! But happy happy joy joy to them both…
Happy Mother’s Day!
9 May 2004First, off, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the mommies out there. What would the world be without all of you?
For the techie in me
TechTV lays off San Francisco staff – I actually read about this first at Leo’s site, then I found the article at CNet. Alas, alas! Does this mean no more of The Screen Savers or Call for Help or Fresh Gear or Unscrewed?! This just isn’t right! 🙁 I am so sad.
We have DirecTV, so we don’t get G4 at the moment. And we really have no way to get it because we don’t get Comcast here. And not that we would go back to cable anyway. They called it digital cable, but it looked so utterly crappy that we decided never to go back to cable. 😛
