Wrap up and more pictures up!

15 May 2004

Mulder makes quick work of KC – Read about Mulder’s complete game over the Royals. 😉

another Mulder pic from today...

I’ve also updated our anniversary page with more photos. My cousin sent me a CD of the pictures they had taken. After some cropping and shrinking, the photos are now up! If you’d like to take a look, you can do so at:

The A’s win and my doggies are clean!

taking pictures of the tv just doesn't work well most of the time
From today’s game. Such concentration…

And the A's win! Oakland 3, Kansas City 1 at Kauffman Stadium

Winning Pitcher – Mark Mulder (4-2)
Losing Pitcher – Darrell May (1-5)

OAK Runs: 3, Hits: 5, Errors: 1
KC Runs: 1, Hits: 4, Errors: 0

Oakland Record: (19-17)

A win for the A’s and a complete game win for Mark Mulder. What more can I ask for? 😉

Doggies got groomed!

Saffy is a total ham when it comes to the camera…

On the other hand, Meggie is quite shy when it comes to the camera…

I had taken pictures of them right after we got home, but my SD card freaked out in the camera and I had to re-format it, which of course meant I lost all the photos I had taken on it. Alas!

Kansas City Royals' Adrian Brown, right, dives at first base to beat the throw to Oakland Athletics pitcher Mark Mulder (20) in the fifth inning Saturday, May 15, 2004, in Kansas City, Mo. Brown grounded to Athletics first baseman Scott Hatteberg, who was late with the throw to Mulder.(AP Photo/Ed Zurga
I just couldn’t resist one more Mulder picture. 😉

Friday is always a good day…

listening to... “Beer and Bones” by John Michael Montgomery
And the A's win! Oakland 6, Kansas City 2 at Kauffman Stadium

Winning Pitcher – Tim Hudson (4-1)
Losing Pitcher – Jimmy Gobble (1-2)

OAK Runs: 6, Hits: 11, Errors: 0
KC Runs: 2, Hits: 6, Errors: 1

Oakland Record: (18-17)

Early offense boosts Hudson – Read about it! 😉

I think I watched the first inning, then fell asleep. I woke up in the sixth and had a little to eat while I watched the rest of the game. 😉 I even cheered Mecir on. Ye gods! After the A’s scored the four runs in the first inning, I pretty much figured Hudson would hold the Royals, which he did. Of course, Mecir had to make it interesting in the ninth, but he got it done without the Royals scoring. Groovy!

And so the old ride is gone…

It was a little sad taking the Lumina in today. (We didn’t have it with us yesterday when we got the Cherokee.) We drove away and I looked back at the two old rides with perhaps just a little regret. Ah well!

Suits are expensive! And no movie today…

We hit the mall after lunch. The Husband needed a suit, so we shopped for one. The guy at the store was really good. He knows what looks good. Men are lucky though! They buy one suit that can have infinite possibilities. Change the shirt and the tie or go with a sweater type shirt and you’ve got all kinds of outfits. Women have to buy all kinds of things to achieve the same thing. Ah well!

And so we did not go see Troy. I think I want to wait a bit anyway. I never really like seeing movies with huge crowds, especially if the people are obnoxious. 😛

Saffy at rest...
Here’s a picture of the Saffy dog. Just because…

listening to... “Friends in Low Places” [the long version] by Garth Brooks

the PowerBook showing off my weblog...
The PowerBook G4. Isn’t it pretty? I love it!

say hello the new ride!
1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited aka The New Ride…

say goodbye to the old ride
1993 Z34 Lumina… It’s a good car! Someone should buy it and have fun with it…

Movie time?

Troy came out today. We might go out and watch it today. I’m just not sure how I’m going to like the story of the Trojan War without the gods. And no, I don’t want to see it because Brad Pitt apparently looks great in it. And if you can believe this, I don’t want to see it because Orlando Bloom plays the despicable Paris. (I think any man who “takes” another man’s wife has no room to call himself honorable.) I want to see Troy because I’m a Greek mythology freak and I want to see how this movie portrays a story that I know in some detail. (Although it’s been awhile since I’ve read the story.) I hope it’s good!

A different ride, a new drive…

13 May 2004

listening to... “Speak Low” by Andy Bey

We got a new vehicle! A 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. So yes, it’s only “new” to us; it’s been around. I like it! It has a moonroof, which is always nice. I’ll have to remember to take a picture of it sometime soon. 😉

Cruzer Mini 256MB

I couldn’t get my Lexar JumpDrive Secure to work, so we took it back to CompUSA and exchanged it for the Cruzer Mini. When we got home, we plugged the Cruzer into the PowerBook and a moment later it appeared! Woohoo! Now I can work on files on either machine. Very cool…

Survivor

Congrats to the winner of the “consolation” $1 million dollars. Right, I’ll take a consolation prize of that amount any day. 😛 The person who won deserved it…

13 May 2004

today in baseball Oakland 1, Detroit 3 at Comerica Park

Winning Pitcher – Mike Maroth (4-1)
Losing Pitcher – Mark Redman (2-2)
SV – Ugueth Urbina(5)

OAK Runs: 1, Hits: 5, Errors: 0
DET Runs: 3, Hits: 12, Errors: 0

Oakland Record: (17-17)

Bummer.

A little gardening…

I hope I didn’t kill my rose bushes. I tried to clean them up a bit today. You know, snip off the dead stuff and all of that. Made a nice mess. Still, it was nice going outside, iPod playing country music into my ears and a cool breeze blowing. I’m glad we’ve got tall trees that offer up lots of shade. I was wearing long sleeves (don’t want to get too many thorn pricks), so I appreciated the cooler weather. 😉

I should get a chair and a little table and plop myself outside with my PowerBook and write away. Or I could just open up the sliding door and let the breeze blow into the house through the screendoor. So many choices…

13 May 2004

today in baseball Menechino traded to Toronto – Well, can I just say I’m surprised? And a little sad! I like Frankie! But I knew it wasn’t a good sign when they optioned him to Sacramento. Well, I wish him well and I hope this means he gets some playing time…
