Well, that makes two games…

26 May 2004

today in baseball Oakland 6, Boston 9 at Fenway Park

Winning Pitcher – Derek Lowe (4-4)
Losing Pitcher – Mark Redman (3-3)
SV – Keith Foulke(10)

OAK Runs: 6, Hits: 14, Errors: 2
BOS Runs: 9, Hits: 9, Errors: 0

Oakland Record: (25-20)

I found it rather heartbreaking to see Keith Foulke in a different uniform. And he pitched so well. Too bad it was against the A’s.

::sigh::

The whole Gmail thing

I think it’s crazy and funny and a little strange that people are wild for Gmail. Heck, you can even bid for an invite on eBay! Or, if you’d rather, you can trade something for it. I’ve actually been reading a lot about it lately, then on tonight’s The Screen Savers, one of the call-in questions was about getting a Gmail account.

Can I just say that I’m glad I got mine already? All because I blog with Blogger. 😉 (Of course, I couldn’t get my first choice because of the 6 or more letters in the username rule. Bah!) Of course, I wouldn’t mind having another. LOL!

And hey, one of these days I will figure out which Gmail addy I will use with this weblog. 😉

Well, as the Husband says, “It’s only one game…”

25 May 2004

today in baseball Oakland 2, Boston 12 at Fenway Park

Winning Pitcher – Curt Schilling (6-3)
Losing Pitcher – Tim Hudson (5-2)

OAK Runs: 2, Hits: 10, Errors: 0
BOS Runs: 12, Hits: 19, Errors: 0

Oakland Record: (25-19)

Right, it’s just one game. But crap! I so don’t like when my boys lose…

my new-ish PDA

Cold calls from mortgage/lenders/etc.

These people SUCK ASS! Yes, I said suck ass. How many times do I have to say to these stupid, non-listening people– “WE’RE NOT INTERESTED?!” Apparently, I have to say it every time I answer the phone. Get a clue! Don’t call me! Pretty soon I’m just going to answer then hang up. Would that be totally rude? Grrrr!

American Idol is on

But we’re not watching it. It’s just not worth it anymore. Will I buy a CD made by either of those girls? Hmmm, I dunno. I might buy one by LaToya. But a CD by Fantasia or Diana has to kick some serious butt for me to buy it. But hey, good luck to the two of them…

A strange dream…

25 May 2004

Just before I woke up, I dreamt that I had walked to San Leandro (is that right?) and I decided to go to 7 o’clock mass. Morning mass at Saint Felicitas! I passed the crowd that had just come out and walked through the main entrance. In the center was donated furniture that looked like it had come from my aunt’s house. Blue sofas. I stopped at the right side entrance (this was where I always entered back in the day) and Toby Keith stopped behind me. I guess we were going to church together. (Can I just say WEIRD?!) Instead of pews, there were long tables set up everywhere, with fold up chairs surrounded each table. Like in a reception hall. We sat down, but then it was time for the tables to go and for the chairs to line up in rows. We decided to sit in the third row from the back.

And that was the dream.

Okay, time to do some laundry and the like…

A little love to my visitors…

24 May 2004

*** Wah – I wasn’t sure I would like the fried milk, but it was so good! It tasted like something I’ve had before. If I could just figure out what it is…

*** Luz – Yes, my A’s swept the Royals. Most glorious. LOL! And of course I must agree with you on Mulder. 😀

Time to go job hunting…

I’ve enjoyed my time off so far, but the time is drawing near for me to look for some kind of employment. I’ve started with the online stuff. It’s amazing all the stuff you can find online. Of course, we shall see how successful I am in finding something close to home. I really don’t want to travel more than 30 minutes to work. Unless I get to work with the A’s or something.

Yeah right! 😉

The writing…

I worked a little bit on my story today. It’s a scene during an unspecified moment in the story. In other words, I have no idea WHEN it actually takes place, though I’ve figured it’s sometime in the beginning. 😛

Which should I chose…

23 May 2004

I’m trying out two different photoblog services, Textamerica and Buzznet. I love the idea of emailing my photos and having them appear soon after online. (If I had a camera phone, I’d be having way too much fun!) But my dilemna at the moment is which to use. I like both interfaces, though Buzznet is a bit more community oriented and Textamerica has more customization. I tried an experiment to see which was faster (I sent the same picture to both places). They both arrived at their respective sites at the same time BUT Textamerica seems to update faster on this page, which is the important thing, right? 😉 I dunno.

I started with Buzznet because it was suggested in Blogger’s FAQ. And so far it’s pretty groovy. But now that I’ve signed up with Textamercia, I wonder if I should give that one a whirl too. It just seems faster than Buzznet…

My new PDA!

Actually, it’s just new to me. I got the Husband’s old PDA, the iPAQ 1910. It’s smaller than my other PDA (ViewSonic V35) and the sound is much better. Although now that I have an iPod, I guess I won’t be listening to much music on the PDA. 😉

Sunday baseball…

And another win for the A’s! 🙂

Saturday stuff…

23 May 2004

And the A's win! Kansas City 4, Oakland 5 at Network Associates Coliseum [Saturday’s game]

A win for the boys is always a good one. This one was in extra innings. 🙂

A wedding in Foster City

the bride walks the petals strewn path

My friend got married yesterday in Foster City. The ceremony was at Leo Ryan Park and the banquet was across the street. It was a lovely wedding and a food filled banquet. 😉 My first Chinese wedding!

The ceremony was short and sweet. The aisle was strewn with rose petals and at the end was a circle made of petals for the bride and groom. The clouds broke long enough for the ceremony, but the wind was steady through it all.

The banquet was great! Lots of food in different stages. Many of the dishes were new to me, so it was great trying out different things.

the menu at the banquet

What I wasn’t used to was no rice! The fried rice came at the end. Our tablemates said that there would be no rice because there isn’t usually rice at banquets. I managed fine without it. I think it made me eat more of the dishes, which is probably the point. 😉

I only got to see two of my friend’s dresses– her wedding dress and her red traditional dress. We left before her final outfit change. I’m not sure what her final dress was going to be. Both dresses I saw were lovely. The red dress was gorgeous!

My friend looked so happy and I am so happy for her and her husband. Here’s to a long and prosperous life!
