Zire72 and other joys of technology
15 June 2004Gmail – So Yahoo made that change with their web based email. And what does Gmail do? They add more invites to existing accounts. I can send more Gmail invites! But I’m not sure if anyone I know wants one. Most of my family and friends aren’t as geeky as me and probably don’t even care about web based email. They’re probably all quite satisfied with their Yahoo or Hotmail accounts. (Speaking of which, when is Hotmail going to join the party and add to their measly 2MB of space? Get with the times, MSN!) But I’m never satisfied with my email stuff. And I want cool email addys! 😉
Anyone here want a Gmail account? I might be in the mood to give one away. 😀 But probably only if I know you somehow.
Zire72 – The husband figued out how to send emails with his Zire72! Bluetooth, what a joy indeed! His phone is bluetooth enabled, as is the Zire72. With a little bit of this and that, he send an email off. Now he can email images taken by his Zire72 (it has a camera) anytime he wants! This also means that I can do the same. And so I have. If you’re reading this today, you might see my moblog’s picture is of some hot sauce bottles. That was sent with the Zire72. Groovy, eh? Well, I think it’s groovy. It’s the closest to a camera phone I’m going to get! LOL!
Yahoo mail – Looks like it’s working a bit faster now. But I still don’t like the taglines at the bottom. I’m still on the Gmail thing. 😛 But it’s very cool that Yahoo is offering 100MB now. Doesn’t compare to 1GB, but hey, it’s nice that they’re trying to hold on to their users. 🙂
Blogger – I don’t think I say it enough, I LOVE BLOGGER!!! I love it, even though sometimes I’ve wanted to try other blogging programs. But I just love Blogger too much. I learned how to do something new today. I’ve added the “previously posted here” to the sidebar. I’m thinking that maybe I’ll archive daily or something, but I dunno. We’ll see.
My A’s are battling it out, but I can’t watch it! Blah!!! Looks like Zito flied out in his first at-bat. They let him swing the bat? LOL! Wish I could see that one. Oh well!
Here’s a good one…
15 June 2004I was reading Leo’s blog and happened upon the following:
Thanks Illiad (an actual post at TLR)
Yahoo increases email capacity – an article at PCWorld.com. After I read this, the first thing I did was log into my yahoo accounts. Yup, 100MB of space! And a spiffy looking new interface. But at this moment, it’s very SLOW. I’m getting error messages when I click on different links on the site. I’m sending a test message out to see if that annoying tagline is still present.
Ah, and it is:

Do you Yahoo!?
New and Improved Yahoo! Mail – Send 10MB messages!
http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail
And here is the reason why I will probably embrace Gmail wholeheartedly. I HATE the stupid taglines at the bottom of each and every email sent out of Yahoo and Hotmail and whatever. I know that I could pay for the service and those annoying taglines will disappear. But why would I do that if I could just use my gmail account and not have those taglines appended to each and every message I send out?
I’ve already started pointing my spammed email accounts to one of my gmail accounts. And gmail catches most of the spam. Hooray! The big thing will be to change my website to my new addys. I so dread that. Blah!
Now of course I need to test Yahoo Mail on whether or not it works on Safari. Hmmm…
Survey time!

Losing Pitcher – Kip Wells (3-5)
PIT Runs: 3, Hits: 4, Errors: 1
OAK Runs: 13, Hits: 18, Errors: 0
Oakland Record: (37-24)
Woohoo, another win! Another sweep! Another grand slam by the A’s, this time from Adam Melhuse! And another win for Mulder. Ahhh, life is good. 😉
My boys are on tv today! :D
13 June 2004One of the things I don’t like about living out here in the Central Valley is that we don’t get all the A’s games that are televised in the Bay Area. If a game is showing on KICU 36, I must hope that UPN 31 here is also carrying the game. If they are not, then I don’t get to watch the game, even though it will appear on the Ticket. Apparently we are part of the area that can be blacked out. It sucks! It’s not right. Can someone explain to me why this is?
But today is not one of those days. UPN 31 is actually televising the game! 😛
The Screen Savers – my pictures and commentary are now up! 😀 My favorite pictures are the ones I’ve already posted here, but you can see them bigger on the page I’ve made. So go look, especially if you’re a TechTV/The Screen Savers fan. 😀
Zito’s answer to my question – I made a recording of Barry Zito answering my question on the Ronn Owens show on KGO radio. Mr. Ronn Owens jumbled my question just a bit, but it’ll have to do. I should have just called and asked him on the phone.
My actual message for Zito was the following:
What was it like working with William Gregory Lee on the set of JAG? It was great seeing my two fandoms converge (I’m a Greg fan and a HUGE A’s fan). Hope all is way groovy with you! (Say hi to Mulder!)
I didn’t really expect Ronn to add the Mulder part and he didn’t. Oh well! 😛
We’re spending another lazy day at home. We stayed home all day yesterday. It was so nice. I spent a lot of the day on the computer. Does anyone else find iTunes is very addicting? It’s just too easy to buy a song here and a song there. Suddenly, you’ve already spent twenty dollars in one week! I’m trying not to spend too much. I have to think of it as buying singles, which I used to do when I was younger. 😛
Hey, I just realized that Mulder is pitching today. Sweet! I get to see him on tv after seeing him live on Monday. Why does that game seem so long ago?
