I just don’t want to talk about their loss…
Weekend wrapup
SATURDAY – We went to the Antiques and Collectibles Show in San Mateo on Saturday. I ended up buying two Karl Urban autograph cards, one of him from The Chronicles of Riddick and the other as Eomer from The Return of the King (LOTR). Why did I buy two autograph cards when I already have his autograph? LOL!
Sometime during our travels, we stopped off at Longs and among our purchases was the latest People magazine. I know, Orlando Bloom is on the cover, which is the Hottest 50 Bachelors issue. But Bloom boy is not the reason I bought the magazine. I bought the mag because Ryan Gosling is in it as one of the 50 Hottest! OMIGOSH! And it’s such a cute picture of him. I’ll have to scan it and show it off. Adorable!
SUNDAY – Father’s Day!
I woke up early. We were at San Francisco International Airport by 10am to pick up my sister, who’s visiting from Atlanta. Groovay! We headed to San Leandro, then onward to Pleasanton for Father’s Day lunch at my cousin’s house. LOTS of DELICIOUS food! I think I ate most of the time we were there. It was GREAT!
I got to hold a 6 day old baby. He is so cute! I love babies that young. They just sleep and look adorable. I love babies. 🙂
After spending a lovely time with family, we headed out to Salida so that we could check our mail. We drove back to Livermore going the backway with the top down. I took some pictures along the way. Hopefully I’ll feature them later this week…
And that’s all for now!
Blown save… again…
19 June 2004
Oakland 3, Chi Cubs 4 at Wrigley Field
Winning Pitcher – Kyle Farnsworth (2-3)
Losing Pitcher – Chad Bradford (3-4)
OAK Runs: 3, Hits: 9, Errors: 1
CHC Runs: 4, Hits: 13, Errors: 0
Oakland Record: (38-28)
Maybe I shouldn’t listen or watch the games. Bradford blew the save for Mulder! Horrible! What the heck is going on with the A’s bullpen?
A long Friday…
18 June 2004
Oakland 2, Chi Cubs 1 at Wrigley Field
Winning Pitcher – Mark Redman (5-3)
Losing Pitcher – Matt Clement (7-5)
SV – Chad Bradford(1)
OAK Runs: 2, Hits: 8, Errors: 2
CHC Runs: 1, Hits: 4, Errors: 1
Oakland Record: (38-27)
Woohoo, they won! Thank goodness! 🙂 I haven’t seen any highlights from this game and I’m going to read the re-cap after I blog. So I know nothing but the score. LOL!
Twas a long day today. We woke up early, went into the office. After a rather short time there, we headed out for lunch, then drove around. We stopped in Milpitas for a cards/collectibles thing they’re having at the Great Mall. I bought a couple of A’s related stuff. Then we went to Fry’s. I don’t think I bought anything there. Then we went to Stoneridge. After buying a couple of shirts at Lane Bryant, I went to the store opposite, Torrid. Also catering to “women” sizes, I thought they had the cutest stuff! I bought a Pirates of the Caribbean shirt (Orlando Bloom as Will Turner). 😀
Now I’m just way tired and I should go to sleep. I’m trying to get myself tired enough so that when I go to bed, I fall right asleep. Will it work? 😛
A series lost…
17 June 2004
Oakland 4, St. Louis 5 at Busch Stadium
Winning Pitcher – Ray King (1-0)
Losing Pitcher – Jim Mecir (0-5)
OAK Runs: 4, Hits: 9, Errors: 1
STL Runs: 5, Hits: 11, Errors: 2
Oakland Record: (37-27)
Jim FREAKIN’ Mecir. He just KILLS me!!! We started watching the game in the fourth inning and I watched Hudson sweat it out. He left the game in the 8th inning with one out. Rincon got the second out and Bradford ended the inning. The A’s didn’t score in the top of the 9th. Alas. And Macha put Mecir in at the bottom of the 9th and the score was 4-2, A’s leading.
It was horrifying to watch. But I watched. Sometimes, when Mecir is called to pitch, I TRY SO HARD TO HAVE FAITH IN HIM. And almost every single time, he disappoints.
GRRRRRR!!!
I know, it’s only baseball. But freakin’ crap!!!
I’ll send out some love tomorrow, when I feel like being loving. 😛 Jen, I hope you got my invite. 🙂
And yes, I’ve still got Gmail invites to give out. Want one? TAG the board or comment and if I have more, I’ll send one your way.
Lunch at Fuddruckers
17 June 2004I’m waiting for my friends to meet me here in Dublin for lunch. I’m sitting in front of the Regal Cinemas theatre, which is also in front of Fuddruckers. I’m a bit early, so I write.
The sun is rather bright, but there’s a cool breeze too, so it isn’t so bad. It’s pretty out here.
Lots of people going to the movies. I wonder what they’re going to watch. I’d go see Shrek 2 or Troy. Oh, or the Chronicles of Riddick.
Time to look alive!
Now this is just annoying…
16 June 2004Domain woes, alas!
16 June 2004At this very moment, I cannot access this domain and my main walelia.com. Alas! So even if I wanted to give some love to my commenters and taggers, I can’t. Sucks!
So instead, I will write until it’s time for me to go offline. Hopefully by the time I get to the house, it’ll be back up and you’ll get to read my babblings. 😉
A few people have taken me up on my Gmail offer. My offer still stands for those of you who might want a Gmail account before Google rolls it out to the public. 🙂
Rangers fan showered by others’ good will – We saw this on ESPN the night it happened. What startled me was that the guy showed absolutely no remorse for what he did. He didn’t care that he jostled the kid. And he didn’t care that he got into the lady’s personal space. All for a baseball that didn’t land in his row. He had to dive into the row in front of him to get it. And now the little boy is getting all kinds of attention. Good for him! And boo to the jerkguy! Shame on him.
