“Goes Good with Beer” by John Michael Montgomery
Tejada new Derby king – Wow, Tejada! 😀 It was great watching the Home Run Derby. We got home in time to watch the whole thing. And I was cheering for Miguel. How could I not? He totally rocked!

“Time is Running Out” by Muse
Oakland 1, Cleveland 4 at Jacobs Field
Winning Pitcher – Cliff Lee (9-1)
Losing Pitcher – Barry Zito (4-7)
SV – David Riske(4)
OAK Runs: 1, Hits: 9, Errors: 0
CLE Runs: 4, Hits: 9, Errors: 0
Oakland Record: (47-39)
Alas. Zito had some good stuff for this game, but all for naught. And he got the loss. Poor Barry. 🙁
My friend is online, but now he’s set to “away.” I can’t remember the last time we got to chat. Hopefully he has some good news for me someday soon. 🙂
We were supposed to go to dinner but instead we’re staying home and watching the Cardinals/Cubs game in HD. HD rocks!
And no pitcher pictures from these past two games. What’s up with that? Where’s my Mulder picture? And Zito! Blah. I’m too lazy to get my camera and load the pictures onto my computer. Is it boredom that makes me take pictures of the tv screen? LOL! Sometimes I get decent shots. Maybe later for whoever is here reading…
And the A’s win!
10 July 2004
Oakland 16, Cleveland 7 at Jacobs Field
Winning Pitcher – Mark Mulder (12-2)
Losing Pitcher – Rick White (3-4)
OAK Runs: 16, Hits: 19, Errors: 2
CLE Runs: 7, Hits: 11, Errors: 0
Oakland Record: (47-38)
I always love it when Mulder wins. It’s a good thing. 😉 The game didn’t look too good in the beginning/middle, but the A’s broke out to win the game. Thank goodness it was while Mulder was still in the game…
A loss in the bottom of the ninth…
9 July 2004
Oakland 4, Cleveland 5 at Jacobs Field
Winning Pitcher – Bob Howry (1-0)
Losing Pitcher – Octavio Dotel (1-5)
OAK Runs: 4, Hits: 9, Errors: 2
CLE Runs: 5, Hits: 6, Errors: 0
Oakland Record: (46-38)
The good news: Eric Chavez ROCKED! He had two hits and made a fantastic play. Kirk Saarloos pitched a great game, allowing two hits and just one run in six and two thirds innings. He left the game with a lead.
The bad news: The bullpen choked. Again. Dotel crumbled this time. It was horrible to watch. Grrrr!!!

Chavez makes a diving stop…
The Chronicles of Riddick
9 July 2004
“Beautiful You” by Rick Springfield
Last night we saw the last showing of The Chronicles of Riddick. And it was actually the LAST show because it’s not playing out here in our area today. Alas!
When we walked into the auditorium, we were the only ones there. Cool, right? We headed up to the topmost row, figuring that if anyone did show up, at least we wouldn’t have to worry about weird people sitting behind us kicking our chairs. The husband went to get some food and drinks and while he was gone a trio of women walked in. Where they there because it was a Vin Diesel movie? I really couldn’t say. They didn’t look like sci-fi fanchicks, so I thought it was interesting. When I came back from my ladies room trip, five more people had wandered into the auditorium. And more people came in before the lights dimmed for the commercials and trailers.
Before the trailers started, I told my husband, “I hope they show the trailer for ‘The Bourne Supremacy.'” I thought it would be funny to see the trailer of Karl Urban movie while we were there for a Karl Urban movie. We saw five trailers before the one for The Bourne Supremacy came up. It ended up being the last trailer. LOL! I wonder if anyone recognized Karl when he came on screen for The Chronicles of Riddick.
The movie was a decent one hour and forty-nine minutes of my life. Lots of cool effects and fast paced action. The plot was a little weak. It was as if we were treated to the fringes of a great story. Maybe I’m being picky. I dunno. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the movie, especially since we got a very decent amount of Karl as Vaako action. 🙂 And I did my fangirl duties.
I hope that the DVD edition has more stuff in it. I’d seen the previews for Riddick and I know for sure that at least one scene was cut. And it was a Karl scene!
