Friday Night dinner

Ahhh, candlelight. It’s so pretty sometimes…

football sunday

12 October 2008

We have the Raiders/Saints game on.  I’m not a Raiders fan, so there we go.  The Saints are leading right now.  😉

I’m looking forward to today’s baseball game.  Go Phillies!  And good for the Rays, winning last night.  Or rather, this morning. 😆

I’m writing from a desktop client called Qumana.  Let’s see how I like it.

sometimes when I hear “In the Ghetto”

6 October 2008

I remember Kevin Smith. I remember that one convention and the Bards Band’s first performance. And I remember Kevin Smith singing “In the Ghetto.” I closed my eyes while he sang and it was as if the spirit of Elvis Presley was singing through Kev. And it touched me almost to the point of tears.

Do you ever feel so moved by music that you want to cry? It happens best when you’re in a live audience. Maybe it’s a concert of classical music lifting your spirit for a ride. Or maybe it’s your favorite singer catching your breath and stilling your heart for just a moment. And you’re lost in this sea of sound and imagination, happy to be there, wishing it would last forever. Have you ever felt that way?

I’ve felt that way. And I think it’s been too long since I’ve lost myself to that feeling. Much too long…

College Football

4 October 2008

We’re watching Notre Dame and Stanford on one channel and Alabama and Kentucky on the other. Oh football.

The sun keeps peeking in and out but the breeze is cool enough to keep the a/c off. Holli is staring out the door. Saffy is right next to me.

I hope this posts okay. 😆

Flipping channels

3 October 2008

“Home” by Daughtry.

Red Sox vs. Angels. The Angels need to get on base.

It’s supposed to rain. I hope it’s enough to wash down the car. The car needs a washing.

My dogs are trying to lure me to nap. I’m resisting their efforts.

Theo Epstein still looks young.

Another song! Something by Robin Thicke. Ahhh, “Lost Without You.”. He’s so smooth. His wife is so pretty. I like this song.

Back to the game.

My dogs still nap.

My next poem will thusly begin:

Moonlight at midnight
Watch the mystery unfold
Day’s embrace fades
Dreams tease then take hold
Follow the winding path
Keeping in time with each breath
Anticipation an easy touch
Luring beyond the unseen depth
Ready to spark inspiration
Untold adventures await
Answers in the whispers
Revealing the secrets of fate
Before granting its reward
Destiny breaks every heart
Tears and broken promises
Ready to tear you apart
Then the morning calls
Drawing back the stars
Leaving only remnants
Dreams brewing from afar
