Back home in California…

27 April 2004

Oh my, can I just say how much it SUCKS being back home? I am so grateful that we made it home safely, of course. But I cannot help but wish we were still on that beautiful island of Kauai, driving not faster than 50 mph with the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. I already long for the open spaces and bright skies and crashing waves and warm nights.

Alas.

The whole week in Kauai was lovely. I really enjoyed myself. I love the island! I want to go back! And perhaps we’ll go back again soon. 😉

Yesterday was our traveling day and I would not like to repeat such a day. The scariest moment was two hours into our second flight (the one landing in Oakland). We were having drinks when the airplane hit an air pocket and we dropped hard. It was the freakin’ most scariest thing I have ever experienced. I was just glad that those little oxygen masks didn’t fly out from above. If that had happened, I would have totally freaked. As it was, I just minimally freaked. I also got a nice mix of Coke and water doused on my shirt.

I was so glad when we landed safely in Oakland.

Then we got to the car and what greeted us? A freakin’ flat tire. We had to wait for AAA to change the tire and we had to drive home on a little donut tire, not going more than 65 mph. From Oakland to Salida. It was a LONG drive.

I will give you all the lovely Kauai details when I’m back at home doing laundry. 😉 Right now I’m at the Husband’s workplace.

Until later…

Aloha from Kauai!

20 April 2004

Just wanted to drop a very quick hello from the island of Kauai. I hope everyone is well. 😀 I see my boys lost last night. Hopefully they’re doing all right tonight. I haven’t checked the score yet. 😉

Okay, only 11 minutes left on the computer. Time to go! 😀

HDTV rules, Hawaii here we come! :D

A Barry good night for A’s
Recap of tonight’s game

Of course, a winning game for the A’s is always a good game. 😉 But it’s even better in HD. Yowsa! It’s so clear, so sharp. Everyone should show their stuff in HD. Rockin’!

Here’s a Mulder picture from last night. Even though he lost and even though it was yesterday. 😉

Onward to Kauai

We’re visiting the island of Kauai. I’ll probably check my email a couple of times, but I probably won’t blog while I’m there. Can’t waste all that tropical sunshine! 😉

So, until I get back, ALOHA!

A good day (if you don’t count baseball)

A recap of tonight’s game. Apparently it was horrible. Alas!

Other than the baseball, it was a VERY GOOD DAY…

Twas our anniversary party today, hosted by his parents. Many people came and I took many pictures. But you all won’t get to see them until after we get back from Hawaii. 😉 Right now, I’m missing my doggie.

with Saffy...

I’m tired now. Maybe I’ll write more later…

Saturday morning musings…

today in baseball Mulder headlines marquee matchup
Preview of tonight’s game. Hey, it’s a night game on a Saturday. Imagine that. 😉 Maybe I’ll TiVo it. It’s Mulder! I wonder if someone will actually take a game picture of him tonight. Right, I’m still annoyed with no picture of him from his last start. Geez!

So much to do and why am I in front of the computer?! Here’s the rundown:

Saturday afternoon – Our anniversary party!
Sunday – Visit and lunch with visiting relatives
Monday – Hawaii!

Somewhere in there is doing laundry, packing, watching the A’s on HDTV (that’s Sunday night), setting the TiVo for all our upcoming shows, making sure we have everything we need for Hawaii. I also wouldn’t mind doing my nails. Maybe I should do that right now. Hmmm…

Happy Anniversary to us! :D

recap of tonight’s game…

It’s been TEN years…

Today marks our 10th wedding anniversary. Yes, you read that right. We’ve been married for ten years. Woohoo for us! I will take this moment to say that I am a very lucky woman to have such a wonderful husband. And these ten years have gone by FAST!

And what did we do today?

Movie time

The Punisher – Perhaps a strange movie to see on one’s wedding anniversary, but why not? I liked the movie a lot. It’s a comic book, yes. Hey, we even got a comic book as part of our movie! But it was nicely done. Deservedly rated R. And Thomas Jane rocks as The Punisher. Yowsa!

After a few errands, we headed out to John Thurman Field in Modesto for the Modesto A’s against the visiting Stockton Ports. We had seats on the first base side, right behind the A’s dugout. Alas, the A’s fell to the Ports, 6-5. Blah! But we got to see some fireworks on the way out. 🙂

A good day of movies and baseball with my sweetie. What more could I ask for?…

Skies turning gray…

15 April 2004

today in baseball A’s 2, Rangers7
The Ballpark in Arlington

Winning Pitcher – Kenny Rogers (2-0)
Losing Pitcher – Rich Harden (0-1)

OAK Runs: 2, Hits: 8, Errors: 0
TEX Runs: 7, Hits: 16, Errors: 2

Oakland Record: (6-3)

I really don’t like when they lose. Alas!

I’m hoping for good weather on Saturday, but the weather report doesn’t look good. Alas!!!

For my visitors…

kiss * kiss * kiss * kiss *

And sometimes you just don’t know what to say…

When I get bad news, I have this weird way of just turning off. I should be feeling something, shouldn’t I? Am I just letting it build up? What if it comes out at the wrong time? Difficult thing. I feel a bit lost. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do…

And I know none of that makes sense…

TV stuff

Survivor – Well, I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised, but I was. I think (and this is a comment on last week’s ousted Survivor) that Lex is a bit of a hypocrite for taking things so personally with Rob. Didn’t Lex do the same thing to Ethan? He said it was the game, that it was business. But with Rob, he took is personally. Are Rob and Lex better friends in real life than Lex and Ethan? Strange!

American Idol – I think the other person should have gone instead of the one who did, but I’m not surprised about the one who did get booted. Does that make sense? Can I just say that I do not know how that one has stayed on as long as now. What in the world is American listening to?! Ye freakin’ gods!

CSI – I just want to say that I love the show, especially in High Definition TV. Rockin’!

Do I miss work?

I’m closing in on my third week of FREEDOM aka unemployment. No, I don’t miss work at all. But I do wish I were keeping to my planned schedule. Oh well.

I will say that I do miss the people that I worked with. They are a bunch of groovy folks and I miss their antics and interaction. I’m glad I still keep in touch with a few of them. 🙂
