Kickoff Sunday…
12 September 2004
“Love Me Tender” – Norah Jones
Sometimes I hate this time of year. Football season has begun. As much as I’d like to be in the family room watching football on HD, I’m here in the computer room listening to my iTunes and thinking about writing some stuff for my story.

Harden, Bobby, Byrnes, Swisher
Swisher is a good sport. He didn’t lose a step after getting pied by one Mark Kotsay (yeah, Kotsay, they saw you!). Nick is surprisingly articulate. Sometimes when they interview the guys, it’s a painful process. They mumble so that you can’t understand them or they say the standard stuff like “We just need to step it up” blah blah blah. Or if you have an untrained ear, you can’t get past the accent. (I would love to hear Marco Scutaro speaking in his native tongue. He has the loveliest voice!)
I can’t believe I slept through some of the game. Good thing it was during the unexciting parts. I was so happy for Bobby! And whenever I’m yelling at him, I like calling him Bobby. LOL!

From The United States of Leland… Ryan Gosling as Leland…
After The Girl Next Door, the hubby wanted to watch The United States of Leland. I should have taken shots during different scenes. Oh well, next time! It’s not an easy movie to watch, but the performances are excellent. The story is just so sad. Ryan is great in it, of course. Since we had already seen the movie, I could look at him and think, “Wow, I’ve met him!” And I could see bit of him, as opposed to Leland. Does that make any kind of sense? Well, it makes sense to me. 😉
A win for the bullpen! :D
11 September 2004Cleveland 4, Oakland 5 at Network Associates Coliseum
Winning Pitcher – Ricardo Rincon (1-0)
Losing Pitcher – Bob Howry (1-1)
SV – Octavio Dotel(33)
CLE Runs: 4, Hits: 9, Errors: 0
OAK Runs: 5, Hits: 8, Errors: 1
HR: CLE: T. Hafner (27). OAK: B. Crosby (19), N. Swisher (2).
Oakland Record: (82-59)
It was lovely watching the game and having them win. Of course, I took a little nap but woke up in time to see the homers by Crosby and Swisher. Rookies injecting some excitement, glorious! 😀
We just finished watching The Girl Next Door. FUNNY movie. 😉 I enjoyed it. I especially liked Timothy Olyphant. He’s fun to watch. I think it’s the voice…
A moment to remember…
11 September 2004Happy Birthday to: Harry, Shane, and Sean!
Happy Anniversary to Cassady & Phil!
Even in the midst of remembering the tragedy, we cannot forget that life goes on. So live it, laugh a lot, and love even more…
TV watching…
For most of the summer, our TiVo selections hibernated on the hard drive. Now that the new tv season is beginning, we need to start watching all the stuff we could have watched during the summer of repeats! Ye gods! LOL!
Last night I watched three days’ worth of The Screen Savers. The show began its new season this past Tuesday from their new home in Los Angeles. Along with the new digs, there is a new co-host. You know, he’s okay so far. When he first started talking in that first show, I thought, “YIKES!” But he’ll grow on me.
I’m not the big gamer AT ALL, so a lot of the gaming stuff just doesn’t appeal to me. Many of the former viewers of TechTV lamented (and likely continue to lament) about the demise of the old network and the rise of the new hybrid G4TechTV. I admit, I lamented as well. But now I have accepted that I am watching something new with familiar faces. I only hope that they don’t totally turn the show into something only gamers will appreciate. I still want my tech stuff!!!
You can totally tell they’re in Hollywood though. On Thursday’s show, the audience representatve for the LAN party was one Jeff Timmons! It was GREAT seeing him. I love 98 Degrees and consequently love all the guys from the group. Anyhoo, it was also WEIRD seeing Jeff on The Screen Savers. Weird but nice. 😉 It reminded me that I need to pick up his new CD!
Baseball…
My A’s are pissing me off. Mark Mulder is making me mad! The boys are giving the Angels too much hope and lately Mulder has been playing un-Cy Young worthy. Know what I mean? If I didn’t adore him so much, I’d have to say that there are a couple of other AL pitchers out there who might deserve it more than him. Crap, does that make me a horrible Mulder fan? I don’t care! I can like him and still see he’s not playing well, right? (But really, still love the A’s very much!) I wish I could have watched the game last night. Mulder apparently did pitch better.
Rich Harden pitches today. And exactly a year ago he pitched. Isn’t that weird? (Two years ago I wasn’t keeping track the same way I do now, so I only know they lost.)

We didn’t get the game on tv out here in the Central Valley so I ended up watching three episodes of The Screen Savers. I love our TiVo. 😉
The A’s lost. Again. Alas. Squandering their opportunities. Frustrating!!!
I got to leave work early today. Woohoo! And this after taking a late lunch. Groovay!
Now I’m tired. Maybe tomorrow I’ll be more articulate. 😛

So let’s see, I’m supposed to say it was only one series? GRRRRR!!!
I comfort myself by looking at my pictures from the Tristar show. They turned out well, eh? 🙂 Okay, the one picture turned out well. LOL! I can’t wait until I get my “official” pics!

Another loss. And I don’t want to talk about it. Grrrrrr!!!
We overslept today and got to work late. Blah! But hey, the day went by a bit faster. LOL! We had lunch at the Elephant Bar. I love the food there. I like any place that serves decent rice. 😉
I am so tired right now. Work days are so draining. Sometimes I wish that it wasn’t baseball season because I know that I’d have more time to do other things. Then again, a month after the season is over I’ll be crying about how I wish it were spring and baseball season. There’s just no pleasing me. 😛

Lucy the Yorkie sniffing through the fence on Saturday…
Loss #10 for Zito :(
6 September 2004

The game was f***ed up. Utterly wretched. I don’t even want to talk about it. I have to listen to the hubby’s words: “It’s only one game.”
