And the World Series is over…

27 October 2004

ALAS! The Cardinals couldn’t even win ONE freakin’ game?! I am so disappointed in their performance. But I couldn’t help feeling a little happy for Keith Foulke when the moment turned him and his teammates into the winners of the World Series.

My only comfort.

Now baseball is really over. 🙁 I think I’m going to hibernate now…

It’s only Tuesday?

26 October 2004

The Cardinals are driving me NUTS!!!

It’s the bottom of the ninth, one out, Cards trailing 4-0. And Keith Foulke is on the mound. If the Cardinals lose this, they’re down 3-0. NOOOO!

Alas.

Larry Walker just hit a home run! 😀 4-1, Red Sox.

Tuesday V505 shots… the drive thru at McDonald’s, my vanilla cone, the rural shot passing by, my Ogo..

I’m having way too much fun with my camera phone! 😀 I love it. And it’s a cute phone too.

And there it is, the Cards lost 4-1. Frustrating!!!

Music…

Omigosh, I want the iPod Photo!!! I’m not going to get it. Yet. Maybe. 😉 Actually, it’s too expensive to just pick up. But it’s groovy to dream about. LOL!

Next on my CD buying list (it’s a contstant thing) is soulDecision’s Shady Satin Drug. It’s an import (for now), so I must wait. And I wouldn’t mind getting Blake Shelton’s Barn and Grill. Yes, BARN and Grill. LOL!

Bridesmaid dress…

The wedding is on Saturday!!! Rehearsal is Thursday. I picked up my dress today after work. It’s right now, thank goodness. Saturday is going to be a manic day. It should be fun and chaotic. I’m going to take lots of pictures. 😀

A fast Monday

Monday V505 shots: Looking back to the rising sun, the hubby’s hat, a self portrait, rural view passing by…

I love when work days go by fast, especially Mondays. 😀 I took lots of pictures with my phone, as you can see above. LOL!

Another loss to the Cards

24 October 2004

today in baseball World Series – St. Louis 2, Boston 6 at Fenway Park

::sigh:: No comfort in this loss. What is up with the Cardinals?! Grrr…

New toy…

I’m having fun with my new phone. I love having a camera phone! 😉 I’ve figured out how to transfer my photos to my computer via the Bluetooth. Very cool!

Now I want to learn how to make my own music clips for ringtones. I bought the groovy song by The Darkness. 😉 It’ll be scary when my phone rings. LOL!

Why are weekends so short? Alas!

Game one is in the books…

23 October 2004

listening to... “Bedroom Toys” by Duran Duran
today in baseball World Series – St. Louis 9, Boston 11 at Fenway Park

The only good thing about Boston winning is that Keith Foulke got the win. I still like him, even though he’s on the Red Sox. 😛 Otherwise, bah on the Cardinals! They kept chipping away but came up short. Oh well.

Goodbye my wonderful Blackberry…

I woke up today and checked the time on my Blackberry and noticed that the battery was showing dangerously low even though it was plugged to the charger. The USB in the phone was busted. Alas!

I was on my way to a new phone (I thought I’d stick to Nextel and get their one and only camera phone) but after talking it over with the hubby, we decided that switching providers would be more cost effective.

Now I’ve got a small camera phone! The Motorola V505 (exclusive to AT&T) is a lovely little piece of technology. We had checked out every camera phone at the store and this one took the best pictures. I also liked the Samsung phone. Nice and light. But I’ve always liked Motorola phones, so the V505 was the choice.

I’m going to have fun moblogging now. So exciting! 😀 I can send pictures to my Buzznet from the phone. So cool!

Bridesmaid dress…

I tried on my newly altered bridesmaid dress and it didn’t fit right! Ye gods. The straps don’t hold the dress up like they should. And I think they’re supposed to criss cross in the back. I have to meet with the seamstress on Monday. ::sigh::

Rain falling in the night…

It smells like burning wood outside. Rain is falling…

Definitely a RED October…

21 October 2004

First off, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS!!!

Isringhausen throwing the last pitch, the celebration in full swing, the old guys looking on, Edmonds racing in to celebrate with his team…

Twas most groovy! The Houston Astros made it a great series with the Cardinals and kudos to them. But my hat goes to the Cards. Besides, I’ve liked Izzy since his turn with the A’s. 😉 And LaRussa was the manager of the A’s when I started watching baseball, so I was definitely cheering for him.

And more shots of the celebration…

I must say that last night’s game between the Red Sox and Yankees was super sweet. It was GREAT watching the Red Sox win. A great series there too.

But my cheers will now go to the St. Louis Cardinals. DO IT IN FOUR! We have a wedding next week and don’t want to miss a game!!! LOL!

Some Ryan Gosling fans are just…

… irritating!!!

I received the following email today from “concerned Ryan Gosling fan”–

subject: ryan gosling is hott

hey, im guessing you’re a ryan gosling fan…umm,i’ve been to your website
and i think that you’re waaay too negative when it comes to saying stuff on
the page.
i’m not trying to be mean, but i’m just pointing out a fact that everyone i
know has thought when they go on your page.
oh, and by the way, your photo page sucks. although ryan is one of the
hottest actors (EVER ALIVE!) you only displayed 3 pictures of him? what’s
with that??? you can use more pictures.
and also, since your pictures weren’t taken by you, and instead you
downloaded them without permission, i will be reporting you…
-concerned Ryan Gosling fan

I replied:

Hi there concerned Ryan Gosling fan –

Thanks for visiting my website and thank you for taking the time to write.

I’m not exactly sure where I’ve been negative on my website. I
haven’t really gotten any emails about that, but I’d appreciate it if
you could point out where you mean?

The images page leads to links with pages of Ryan in various roles.
If you scroll down a bit, you’ll see the links. There are many other
Ryan fansites that feature images of him (updated and all), so I leave
it to them to show those off. My site started several years ago and
has really just become more of a tribute rather than a frequently
updated site.

As for the pictures not taken by me, which ones were you referring to?
I’ve done my best to credit the appropriate people regarding the
copyrighted photos and the conventions pictures are either mine or
belong to friends/acquaintances. The screencaptures belong to their
respective productions (as noted).

Sorry if you didn’t like certain parts of the website.

Once again, thanks for writing.

Best always,
(Ohhh) Ryan… website owner

I was annoyed by a lot of what the person wrote. I know, I shouldn’t care what people write to me about my Ryan fansite, but the very last part of the email concerned me. First off, what pictures does this person think I’ve downloaded that aren’t mine? And second, report me to who?

I like the “i’m not trying to be mean but” that later turns into “your photo page sucks.” Hullo, if you don’t like my website, why visit? And if you think you can do better, then do it!

I think I was diplomatic in my response, though I’m sure the person didn’t deserve a response from me. I felt like venting about it, so there it is. Venting can be fun!

If you spell hot as “hott” does that make it hotter?

And here’s what I really wanted to say:

Hey, thanks for writing. But has anyone ever said these words to you: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.”

And throwing that little saying aside, let me just say– SCREW YOU. If you don’t like my website, you’re more than welcome to click AWAY from it. Want more pictures of Ryan? Check out the other sites that have suddenly cropped up. They’ve got newer and better pics than the ones I have.

One more thing, I think you’ve missed the spirit of my little dedication to Ryan. I put the website up to share my admiration for Ryan in my own way. I do not answer to anyone but myself. I do my best to respect him and his fans, but messages like yours make me want to give in and just take the site down.

Too bad if you think I don’t have enough pictures and too bad if you think I’m somehow negative on my site. Think you can do better? Be my guest.

Thanks for writing. Now crawl back into your hole.

See, I would never write anything like that to anyone. It would be just too cruel and rude. I wonder if people ever realize what they’re doing when they write stupid shit like some of the stuff I get.

Anyway, enough of that! I need to catch up on some emails!

Wow, baseball rocks!

20 October 2004

I can’t believe I’m excited about baseball in October and *my* boys aren’t in it. I think it helps that the hubby’s team (the St. Louis Cardinals) are in it.

The Cards won today to force game seven in the NLCS. Twas an extra inning affair filled with frustration and excitement. Glorious!

And right now the Red Sox are leading the Yankees 6-0 in their game seven. It’s been a crazy series! Exciting! Which ever team you love or hate, the games have been riveting…

I’m writing from my Ogo while the game is on. Fun stuff. 😉 Hopefully this posts all right…
