Fridays are always good

30 September 2005

We got to leave work early today. Yeehaw! 😉

We made it home in time for the Cardinals game. Mulder was pitching and did a semi-crap job of it. Alas. Seven walks! They took him out after the 4th inning, so it was a no decision for him. Of course, I had to do some screenshots. It was his last regular season game. 😛

Tonight we watched the pilot for Ghost Whisperer. We recorded it because I wanted to see Wentworth Miller in a non Michael Scofield role. 😉 And the hubby adores Jennifer Love Hewitt. (He’s liked her ever since Party of Five.) Anyhoo, it was nice seeing WM in a different role.

We’re all caught up with Threshold too. A good show! I’m hooked enough to watch it every week. It’s nice seeing Brent Spiner in something else. But he’ll always be Data to me. Is that weird? 😆

Oh yes, and my A’s played… (more…)

Slipping away…

26 September 2005

I feel it, the A’s season is slipping away. Sometimes I wonder if it’s better to know sooner than a week before it ends.

So let me talk about Prison Break first. (more…)

Our last suite game…

23 September 2005

Tonight is our last regular season game in our suite. Oh how time has flown! I’m a little sad, but I do look forward to next year. Are suites in our future? We shall see…

Last day of summer…

21 September 2005

The last official day of summer. What a bummer! I wonder if that’s the reason behind the strange weather we’ve been having lately. Weather-wise, I don’t mind the cooler days. But in my head, the end of summer means the near end of baseball. Alas!

We caught up on Prison Break. Another great episode! I’m so hooked on that show. It’s nuts. Dominic Purcell isn’t getting nearly enough air time for my taste. Good thing Wentworth Miller is worth watching. 😉

Oh yes, and there was afternoon baseball… (more…)

Have I ever mentioned that Mike Bordick was my favorite A’s player back in the day? 😆 (more…)

St. Louis Record:(79-46)

My A’s didn’t play today. Alas! But Mulder and the Cardinals played and I got to listen on the way home. (Thank goodness for MLB on XM Radio!) It was Mulder’s 15th win, so he deserves a little mention today, eh? Oh, and he got a hit too. 😆

I had the weirdest dream… (more…)

Ah, but the sun still shines bright…

Ryan & Rachel
Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams at the Teen Choice Awards 2005

Don’t they make a super cute couple? I think so. And such a lovely picture. 😉

Mark Mulder earned his 14th win of the season. Woohoo Mulder!!!

“I feel good now and that’s all that matters.”

The Cardinals are 76-44 and passed the Chicago White Sox (74-44) for the best record in the major leagues. Mulder was looking forward to telephoning former teammate Jermaine Dye to let him know.

“I told him we’re going to catch you, and he goes, ‘Whatever, dude,”’ Mulder said. “We caught them.”

…This was the 10th shutout of Mulder’s career, and his 24th complete game. Last year, he was 12-2 with a 3.21 ERA before the All-Star break and 5-6 with a 6.13 ERA the rest of the way.

“There’s nothing different, I just got into a funk last year, that’s it,” Mulder said. “It’s going to happen to somebody at some point in their career.

“A couple of years ago I had 10 or 11 wins in the second half so it’s pointless, it’s just how it happened.”

Mulder contributed two hits to an 11-hit attack, including a run-scoring single in the seventh for his second RBI of the year that made it 4-0. He is 76-10 in 97 career starts when his team scores four or more runs, and is 12-1 with a 1.96 ERA at night and 1-5 with a 7.57 ERA during the day.

“Until someone pointed it out I didn’t know it,” Mulder said. “Now people are making a story of it, but to me I didn’t really know about it.”

Yahoo game recap

My A’s played too.

Sometimes I just take it too personally and let sadness seep into my skin because of baseball. How silly is that? My A’s lost and don’t deserve first mention in today’s post. I’m so mean!
