Their 3rd loss in a row. There was a HORRIBLE call in the 7th, but what can you do?
The Teen Choice Awards 2005 show was on last night. I only mention it because Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, and The Notebook won awards in various categories. Once again, Ryan didn’t have much to say as he accepted his surfboard award (now there’s a unique thing). I think it was “Thank you very much.” He seems to have McAdams do all the talking. They make such a cute couple! 😉

Zito was pitching a good game. Until the seventh inning. Twas a bit horrid. And I think that’s all I want to say about that…

With today’s loss to the Twins, the A’s lost their first series since mid-May (I had to look it up). ALAS! They’ve also dropped to 2nd place in the AL West (the Angels are in 1st), but still maintain a 2.5 game lead over the Yankees for the Wild Card.
And that’s a fanchick version baseball update. 😆
The rest of the weekend went like this… (more…)
Poolside at dusk
12 August 2005
Minnesota 1, Oakland 0 at McAfee Coliseum

Losing pitcher – Danny Haren (10-8)
Minnesota Runs: 1, Hits: 3, Errors 0
Oakland Runs: 0, Hits: 3, Errors 1
Oakland Record:(66-49)
We’re in Livermore this weekend, so we got to watch the game. Not that much went on, mind you. After the second inning, we took a dip in the pool and came back to a 1-0 game. Alas. Nothing too exciting to report, although the A’s tried to make it interesting in the bottom of the 9th. Now we’re tied for first again. 😛

Alas, Mulder did not fare so well today. 🙁 But he still deserves a mention. Just because.

Woohoo Melhuse!!! 😉 And once again, the A’s are tied for first place. Looks like a great crowd gathered for the game. It’s so good to see fans coming out to the ballpark. 🙂
Aaaack, Bobby Crosby is going to be in Pleasanton after Thursday’s game!!!
A’s Player Autograph Appearance: Bobby Crosby will sign autographs at El Balazo in Pleasanton (5331 Hopyard Road) following the game on Thursday, August 11, courtesy of Corona.
For me, that’s after work. I could make a detour to Pleasanton and get an autograph if I wanted. Right? Or better yet, a picture with him! Ahhhh. Dreams are good things…
Monday blahs!
9 August 2005
LA Angels 9, Oakland 2 at McAfee Coliseum
Winning pitcher – John Lackey (10-4)
Losing pitcher – Rich Harden (9-5)
LA Angels Runs: 9, Hits: 12, Errors 0
Oakland Runs: 2, Hits: 8, Errors 2
HR: LAA: V. Guerrero (22)
HR: OAK: E. Chavez (19)
Oakland Record:(64-48)
First off, we were supposed to go to this game, but things happened and we didn’t. Second, that was probably a good thing because third, what an ugly game! They cannot play like that for the rest of the series. They must not. Poor Harden! Sucks when he doesn’t have his game on. Alas.
