Josh Beckett pitched a complete game shut out in Yankee Stadium in Game Six of the 2003 World Series. He won, the Marlins won, and Florida can now call themselves the World Series Champions.
I must really just love the game because I was on edge of my seat at the top of the ninth inning. I wondered, could this Marlins team do it? And why did I care? I know next to nothing about the Fishies, but since I hate the Yankees (an illogical story I’ll keep to myself), I cheered for Florida.
Yankee Stadium was stunned as the visiting team celebrated on the field. It was sad for the Yankees and their fans, but the Marlins had not a care in the world as they rushed each other in jubilation.
So, congratulations to the Florida Marlins…
ADVENTURES IN PHONE BUYING…
We woke up early (for a weekend) to head out to the mall, specifically the Nextel Store. It was time to swich services. The new i730 came out and I have been wanting the Blackberry 6510, so we went out and spent way too long in the store purchasing our new phones.
Only one employee was in the store and good thing we got in early because people were in an out the whole time we were there. It was weird! He handled things pretty well, I thought. Unfortunately, my phone didn’t work at first. He had activated the wrong SIM card! We were back in the house by then and eventually got that straightened out. Then we tried calling our phones. I wanted to see how my phone rang. “The Nextel number you are trying to reach in not in service.” WHAT?! Another phone call to the customer service and nothing. We can direct connect and we can call out, but we cannot get incoming calls. What a bunch of crap!
That said, my Blackberry ROCKS! I love it already. I have a long ass email address for it, but I have a walelia.com addy forwarding to the device and showing as the reply to address, so all is good. 😀
Now, if we can just incoming calls, all would be great!
Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour! (I’m just trying to remind myself…)
