I’ve got a little time to whine and cry about my adventure last night, so here it goes:

One of the things I dread is my car dying while I’m driving it. You might say it’s a lucky thing that my flat tire a couple of months ago and my battery dying last night happened after work. Sure, you might say that until you realize that I work until 2130 hrs, which means it’s dark when I’m on my home. It was scary sitting there waiting for the tow truck. This one man walked by twice, but he was on his mobile, so I suppose he was all right. ONE truck stopped and asked if I was okay. Part of me was glad I was on the phone (just in case anything happened) and another part of me was touched by the sentiment. Then yet another part of me was suspicious. It’s all a jumble.

The tow truck dude didn’t look too convinced that he would be able to just jump start my car. And he turned out to be right. He said that I had a busted alternator and that I would have to get towed. I wanted to get towed, but it looked like it would take a long time. Tow truck dude number one towed the car to a local 76 station and there I waited. The husband got there first! We waited together for about 10 minutes, then the flatbed arrived to take the car.

I suppose it was lucky that I pulled off the freeway when I did. I was glad I got to the exit and that the car had enough juice to make it to the “NO STOPPING AT ANY TIME” side of the street. And I was glad I didn’t really have to wait that long. But damn it, I hated that it happened. It makes me NERVOUS. I don’t like being nervous when I’m driving. It drives me bonkers!

Now my sleep schedule is all messed up. I’m tired and still irritated, but I woke up and took my shower at my normal time to hopefully get my body back in sync. Today I drive the Stratus, which as had its own problems, though not lately. Totally sucks! Maybe tomorrow I’ll drive the Tahoe.

Car problems suck big time!

Oh, and a little bit on work:

I was ear-hustling yesterday afternoon. My fellow co-worker, who’s one of those slated to get laid off because of her “one” status (as opposed to “two” status like me), was talking on the phone and telling her friend about her meeting (along with a few other “ones”) with our ESTEEMED (NOT!) leader. She said that he was so cold to them. He told them that two years ago they had the chance to roll over to “two,” but they didn’t take it. So, he goes on, “it’s your own fault and I don’t feel sorry for you.” And this man is the leader of our agency? So it doesn’t matter that these people have put up to 20 something years into the department, that they are solid workers? How disappointing, how cold.

And in the “rumors” department, he’s been heard to say that “in ten years, there will be no civilian staff.” So I guess I’m gone within ten years? I was probably going to go anyway, but why would he say that? Someone turn the “IDIOT” switch off!

Thank you for listening to my babbling…

Now, even though I am now a PocketPC chick, I still look fondly on my PalmOS days. And wow, Handspring has a new line of Treos on the works. Sneak peek at the Treo 600

Tuesday: A’s over the Rangers 4-3. Woohoo! 😀

It’s best to be a “witness” as opposed to the “subject” of an investigation…

I was eastbound 580 and my battery began to die. I exited and just made it to the side of the street before the car died. Thirty minutes later and the tow truck comes to try and jump start my car. Alas! A little after 2300 hrs and I’m at the gas station waiting for the flatbed truck to tow my car home. Lucky thing for me the hubby came to pick me up. The car just got here! It’s half past one! I know, I should go to sleep. Must reply to an email first…
