Moonlit Jazz

I bought a box of the Xena Beauty and Brawn cards. I pulled: an Erik Thomson autograph card, two lovely Kevin Smith tribute cards, one Xena double costume card, and one Ares costume card. Very cool! 😀 I was really surprised and happy to get the Ares costume card. And I laughed when I got the Erik Thomson card. What are the chances? Pretty groovy! 😀

The A’s over the Expos 9-1. Woohoo! 😀 Tim Hudson FINALLY got his 5th win. Good for him!

Yesterday: A’s over the Expos 5-4. 😀

Here’s something that amused more than annoyed me:

Yesterday we headed out to San Leandro for my dad’s birthday. (Wow, 61.) Most of the people there were his friends. When he was cutting the cake, one of his friends asks my mom, “When is she due?” He gestured to me. I guess he didn’t think I understood Tagalog. My mom answered him in the like and said that I wasn’t pregnant. So he goes on and says that I look like I am. Oy! Is that not just impolite? I think my mom was a little embarrassed. Like I said before, I’m more amused than annoyed. But yes, I am also annoyed. Blah!

And no, I’m not complaining about being bigger. If someone thinks I’m fat, they can kiss my ass. I accept my body the way it is. Sure, I wouldn’t mind losing a few inches (not so much a few pounds), but it doesn’t haunt my waking moments. People seem to like me just fine no matter how I look. 😉 And the hubby doesn’t care either, though he likes to say I might want to lose weight for my health. But most importantly, I like myself and I’m happy with myself. To me, that’s what it’s all about. 🙂

I must add, those people at Macy’s who “worked” the A’s autograph line this past week SUCK. My fellow A’s fans who got jerked around do not deserve such treatment. Jen, I hope you give them hell! It sounds like those Macy’s folks were trying to blame the A’s for their own inefficiencies. I hate that. Boo to Macy’s!
