A’s 8, Mariners 5. 😀

Protest creates gridlock on SF streets… What is wrong with all these anti-war protesters? Do they really think that disrupting the lives of their fellow Americans will end what has already begun? Don’t they realize that taking the streets as they did today proved NOTHING except that they’d rather see their tax dollars go to paying law enforcement overtime ? It sickens me, really, to think that people will use the war as an excuse to vandalize their cities, infuriate their neighbors, and wreak general havoc.

I really don’t mean to be unpatriotic, but what happened to assembling in a peaceful manner? What happened to being civilized? They want those they inconvenience to stop and think about what’s going on in the world? How about respecting the fact that most of us just want to go about our normal lives as best as we can? It’s not like we can do anything here to stop what’s happening out there.

I guess I just don’t understand what the protestors in San Francisco hoped to accomplish.

Shouldn’t we be showing support for our troops? Shouldn’t we pray (if that’s what we do) for their safe return?

Mark Mulder worked the first seven innings for Oakland, allowing four runs on seven hits while throwing 80 pitches

And so it’s wartime? I consider myself an average American woman, mostly uninformed on worldly events, but nonetheless compassionate to the troubles of our nation and the world throughout. Try as I may to understand the reasons behind all of this, I am continually baffled. I’ll admit it, I don’t know why it had to come to this. But that said, I do fully support our troops out there and hope that they come home safe and sound very soon. I’d like to think I’m middle of the road in all of this. You won’t see me out there protesting, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have an opinion.

On a personal and selfish note, I am disappointed that my tv shows are getting pre-empted! That’s what I get for getting attached to those reality shows (at this point specifically American Idol and Survivor). There, I said it. Wait, it’s not like anyone reads this anyway. 😛

I read an interesting commentary at Accuracy in Media: Anti-Oscar Movement, No Tribute for Bigmouths Sometimes I just don’t get people and their “opinions.” Although some good points were made, it’s all about perspective. The only reason that those Hollywood/celebrity types have a forum to air their opinions is because we give them the attention. Let them say what they will, there are actually many people out there who agree with them. Of course, there are lots who don’t agree at all. And all of that is okay too.

I’m rambling on, I know. I’m just trying to figure it all out…
