Ohhh, while I’m thinking of it, I must vent a bit about work. (I figure, who reads this thing anyway? Surely not my co-workers!)

My workmate and I came back from dinner and my desk was in slight chaos. Really, I didn’t care about all of that. I usually thank those who help me. If something is amiss, I can usually handle it in a timely manner. In reality, it was a small thing, but other things factored in and I blew up. Although I was angry, I held my tongue for the most part (I could have totally gone off), but I did in fact blow up. A couple of hours later, I cooled down enough to apologize to the person. Yeehaw for me. 😛 Not really.

And here comes the rant…

This involved 3 people. Number One was the one I asked to cover for me. Number Two was at my desk when I came back. Number Three was the one I blew up at.

I got conflicting stories about the whole situation. Two said that Three offered to help, so Two asked Three to do one stack. Three later told me that Two told Three to do the stack. Three did not offer (so Three said), but was given the stack to do. I’m going to say it here, I am apt to believe Two over Three. But I don’t want to work with any hostilities, so when I apologized, I apologized for my emotional burst. I did not apologize for what I said.

I was insulted by something said. “I know how to do it, it’s easy.” Well gee, if it’s so easy, why haven’t I ever seen this person do anything from my desk? If it’s so easy, why wasn’t it done right? And if it’s so easy, why are you asking questions? Hmm, maybe it’s not so easy. No, strike that. It’s easy if you know what you’re doing.

What, did I say that? Yes I did. Am I implying that some people don’t know what they’re doing? Affirmative. People who don’t know what they’re doing shouldn’t offer to help. And then they shouldn’t lie about offering to help.

For some people, work is trying to get out doing the assigned position. Some people work harder to get out of their work when it’s just easier to DO THEIR JOB.

It’s frustrating working with people like that. I sit at my desk, plugging away at the paperwork, but I hear what’s going on in the office. I hear people chatting and laughing while the phones just ring and ring. I hear the insipid questions here and there when the answers should already be known. I am continually amazed by the bold face LIES by some people just to get out of their work. Or the blame. It’s always someone else’s fault.

Okay, rant mode OFF.

Alas, no reply. I feel so neglected! 😛 Not really…

My friend is online again. Should I bother him? Gads! 😛

The A’s did the split squad thing today. Scores: Cubs 3, A’s 0 (Mulder pitched six “high-quality innings.”) at HoHoKam Park, Rockies 8, A’s 1 at Hi Corbett Field. (What is up with the names of these parks? LOL! Okay, I shouldn’t laugh, I know…)

…Rats, I couldn’t resist! Off goes the IM. LOL!…

Ohh, I know someone on this page. 😉 Thursday Night Hook Up at Twist

THE FRIDAY FIVE

1. Do you like talking on the phone? Why or why not?
If it’s someone I know (family or friends), I love talking on the phone. If it’s business (home or work), I’d rather not.

2. Who is the last person you talked to on the phone?
I think someone at work.

3. About how many telephones do you have at home?
Three

4. Have you encountered anyone who has really bad phone manners? What happened?
Of course! Once, someone called asking for a dead person. When I told him the person was deceased, he was rude.

5. Would you rather pick up the phone and call someone or write them an e-mail or a letter? Why or why not?
I’d rather write an email or letter. You can take the time to think about what you want to say and you can say it in way that might be better than if you just shoot off your mouth. 😉
