MY LAST POST FROM HAYWARD
Well, it’s finally come to this. I haven’t finished packing by any means, but tonight the electronics get packed away and tomorrow we’re off to the valley. The Saffy dog is sitting on my lap (she’s a lapdog, after all) and I can hear my overalls making too much noise in the dryer. And this is my last post from Hayward.
Thoughts? I’m hungry! LOL! And I’m tired. But there’s much more to do and not much time to do it. Ye gods! Such is life, I suppose. 😉 Other thoughts? Here’s where I get a bit serious.
I have lived in Alameda County for all my life. Its wonderful proximity to San Francisco, the South Bay, and the Valley makes it an ideal place to live. The weather is moderate, my family is close by, and there are all kinds of things to do in all different places. But there are many downs. Too much traffic. Too much crime. Too many people. It’s like living in a big city, but all spread out. So many lights, so many cars, so much noise.
But I will miss it. I admit it. If I could find a way to live in a “nicer” part of the Bay Area, I would do it. But I’m a normal person with a job that merely pays the bills and the cost of living keeps rising. So for a more comfortable way of life, I will endure a longer commute to work (thank goodness for my odd hours!). I will get to know a new place.
Until the next post. 😀
