10 September 2002

I’ve got the clock radio hooked up in the bathroom so that I can listen to the game. The A’s are down to their last out. It’s 2-5 right now. Alas!… And the A’s fall to the Angels, 2-5. RATS! 😛

Cool articles:

California center of baseball universe (or, if you’re an Angels fan, the title is Angels fans in search of ultimate victory) – I’m an A’s fan, so I don’t really agree with Mr. Neel’s statement of “But make no mistake, there is only one kind of fan worth being right now and that’s an Angels fan.” Still, I can see his point. As a baseball chick in general, I can appreciate his opinion. What I like better is this:

It’s sweet torture now. You want and wish and hope against hope. You fear and dread and cringe and pray. You care at the most basic levels, in the deepest channels.

That statement is so true to me. Go read the article, it’s a keeper! 😀

The A’s are smart… and lucky – I like how Mr. Schoenfield calls my boys “freaks.” Heck, I’ve been calling Zito that for the whole season! (With MUCH affection, of course.) Another great read. 😀

Billy Beane is a rare mastermind. He’d be the first GM I would hire to run a team.

But Barry Zito, Tim Hudson and Mark Mulder — a trio of freaks — are even more rare.

Manic Monday: A’s over the Anaheim Angels, 2-1. Great going! Tim Hudson improved his record to 13-9. 😀

Work kinda SUCKED! But, with help from my fellow co-worker, I got out on time. Oh, and it was a working holiday (Admissions Day), so double time and a half! Woohoo! 😛
