Howe doesn’t much talk about the possibility of a strike, but he did have this to say Saturday before the game: “Whatever is best for baseball is what I want. And I think it’s best to play.”

Fanciful Friday: A’s over the Detroit Tigers, 9-1. The A’s are now in sole possession of first place, Barry Zito has 18 wins, and the A’s have a ten game win streak in which all the A’s starters have all the wins. WOOHOO! Please please please don’t strike! 😐 I want to go to a game on my vacation!

I like where I work. When I say that, I mean where in the office I work, not the general job setting. (I think you’d have to call me insane if I actually said I *like* working at a gaol. [If you’re British, you probably know what that word means. LOL!]). Anyhoo, my current position allows me certain freedoms like not having to worry about the gray shirts demanding work from me. Case in point: One young gun has been taking the whole “lead” gray shirt on shift thing a bit too serious and he’s gotten a couple of blue shirts annoyed with him. Young gun gray shirt has now twice aired his concerns to the stripes on duty, who does a knock out job of widening the divide between the gray shirts and blue shirts. As a fellow blue shirt, I can sympathize with the incidents in question. It’s not right and it’s not being handled right by the stripes. If I were a regular swing shift blue shirt, I would be trying to set the gray shirt straight myself.

As it is, because of where my job duties, I don’t mix much with the gray shirt in question. In fact, when he does talk to me, it’s about baseball! LOL! Which is cool with me. He’s a nice guy, which is why it surprised me when I started hearing the young gun type stories. It reminded me of another gray shirt I miss. 😉 It’s disappointing that this nice guy is jerky to my fellow blue shirts. I hope he realizes that he should take advantage of our knowledge, that he should learn from us instead of copping the attitude of “I’m better than you.” Dude, just because you can carry doesn’t mean that you know more than the whole office.

But like I said, he’s nice to me. Even gave me an updated score on the A’s game. 😉

I’m very glad the week is over. The gray skies and cool breezes were oddly refreshing…
