So, I’m at the A’s official site. My daily trip. And here’s an article on Jason Giambi, one time A’s first baseman, now on the much hated Yankees.

Don’t Boo ‘G’

When Jason Giambi, one of my all time favorite A’s players, signed with the New York Yankees, I felt gutted. Betrayed. Angry. Deserted. How could he sign with THEM?! And that feeling of anger simmers in me now, though it’s lost some heat since reading that article. Has the healing begun?

As I respect the Yankees’ place in baseball history, so too must I respect Jason’s place in A’s history. He was a major and positive influence on the team and I think I will always be grateful for that. And I did adore him for the player he was, for the leader he became.

I just wish he wasn’t a Yankee!

If I were going to the game on Tuesday night (the first of three against the Yankees in their only regular season appearance in Oakland), I would probably cheer for Giambi at his introduction or first at-bat. Then I’d boo him thereafter for the Yankee he is.

Am I a baseball chick or what? 😉

My A’s are off today, but I thought I should post in anyway. You know, keep those journaling cells active. I’m considering going to Blogger Pro, but I wonder if I should. I do write to my blog a lot, but does anyone read it? Ye gods!
