Dreams

country music rocks “Nothing on But the Radio” – Gary Allan

I had a restless night of sleep I kept waking up. When I only had about two hours of sleeptime left, I had strange dreams.

First up, I was in a restaurant or something and I saw Sarah Lane in the distance. I guess we knew each other because I picked up my purse and went over to chat with her. We laughed like we were friends from school or something. I can’t remember what we talked about.

Then the dream slightly shifted and I was hanging out with Kevin Smith (“Ares” on Xena and Hercules). We were having a great time, then the dream faded into something else.

Is it weird to dream about dead people?

The husband said that I probably dreamt about Kevin Smith because I associated Sarah with a Kevin and I just picked the Kevin I adored the most. It might make sense, eh?

on my mantle
I love the A’s bunches, eh?

The A’s had the day off today but the Cardinals thought it would be nice to play and lose today. Grrr! Oh well. And Tim Hudson lost today too. Poor baby! 🙁

I was going to take a picture of my new Mark Mulder bobblehead, but I’ll save that for another day. 😆 I ordered it from the Cardinals website last week or so, along with my Cardinals bracelets, which have yet to arrive. Blah! I want them before our game in July. I’m sure I’ll have them before them. And then I shall be one of those detestable fans who cheers for the visiting team. 😛 Sucky of me, eh?

Meggie
Meggie glad to be out of the cone…

While we’re home, Meggie doesn’t wear that crazy cone around her neck. So I’m sure she’s glad we decided to be lazy butts today. 😆

Saffy
Saffy in a state of relaxation…

My new computer (did I mention officially that I have a new computer?) is pretty cool! Of course, getting the programs that I want on it is going to be a challenge. And the whole music thing is getting on my nerves. Thank goodness my iPod doesn’t seem to affected by the whole thing. It’s still adding stuff on as it did before. 😉

bobbleheads
The Rich Harden bobblehead in front of the Barry Zito bobblehead…

And I got tagged by Vikkicar!

Bruce Campbell is groovay

me and bruce
…with Mr. Bruce Campbell

I didn’t take too many pictures. In fact, most of the pictures in the gallery were not taken by me. 😆 Oh yes, pictures are up from my moment with Bruce Campbell. Go look, if you’re curious…

We arrived in Sacramento at about 1:30pm or so and found the Borders on Fair Oaks Boulevard. I got my number, post-it, and the flyer explaining the rules of the signing. We ventured out into the rather posh-ish shopping area and found a French restaurant. We both had sandwiches, then it was back to Borders.

The people waiting for their Bruce moment were pretty laid back and not too outlandish. But hey, if you like Bruce, you’ve got a little freak in you, right? I know most of the people were probably Evil Dead fans, although the hubby saw a woman getting her Xena DVD set signed. 😉 Cool. Since it was a book signing, I got my book signed. Doy!

I was number 134 and after standing for awhile with the 150s or so, the hubby convinced me to move up to near the front, where I found 132/133 (she had two things to sign) and 131 was behind me while we waited. I was thoroughly amused by some of the people who came up to meet Bruce. There was the couple who had the crying baby (“Everyone knows the crying baby rule, right?” The guy next to Bruce said. We all agreed and didn’t mind that the little family probably had number 299 or whatever. 😉 ) When the guy next to Bruce held up Denise’s book (aka number 132) and explained where to put the post-it, the hubby said something funny that made 132 laugh. Good times. (Oh, and we were supposed to put the post-it in the inside of the book so that Bruce would be happy and not say mean things to us.)

Let’s see, there was the young lady with the SHORT skirt and fishnet nylons. Ye gods! She told Bruce that she has loved him since the 3rd grade and he said something like, “Awww, now you’re making me feel like an old man!” She kept gushing on and didn’t want to sit down at first. Probably because her skirt was so short, the hubby noted.

Soon it was 132/133’s turn. While we stood in line she seemed like an enthusiastic but mostly normal gal. But wow, when she finally got near Bruce, she started gushing too! And she was quite close to him. I’m not sure what they were talking about, but it looked like a good conversation.

Bruce was great, of course, chatting with everyone and asking questions and all of that. When it was finally my turn, I sat down next to him with a hello or something and I handed him my book. He opened it, then closed it and said, “Wait, let me guess your name.” He paused, then said, “Valerie.” I laughed, of course and said it was. “Like my little system?” He asked, referring to the post-it, and I’m sure I said yes. He asked me if I was from the area and I said no. He asked if I worked in Sacramento, I said no, I work in Concord. He asked where that is and I said it was about an hour and half away. The guy next to Bruce told him it was near Lafayette and Bruce said that he’d just been in Coalinga and the guy said that his grandfather helped build the prison there.

Bruce and I posed for our picture and I got up and we shook hands. And onward to the next person. 🙂

I didn’t even watch a bit of it…

I didn’t see any of the game. Was it even on tv? Oh well, I was up in Sacramento getting my Bruce Campbell book signed. More on that later. 😉

Oh, and the Cardinals lost too. Darn it!

Mulder lost again today...
Alas, Mulder got the “L” for today’s game…

And the A’s won! Woohoo! We caught some of it on tv. It was tied 4-4 when we turned it on. Sometime later (the 7th inning), Chavez was up with one man on and I yelled at him to do his job. He replied with a most lovely homerun. 😆 Gotta love it!

I haven’t read any of that Bruce Campbell book. I’m going to go to that book signing tomorrow without having read a word of his new book. Ye gods! I wonder if he’s going to read any of it for us. 😛 I hope I can take a picture with him. That would be soooo cool!

And later, I’ll tell you all about my latest toy. 😉

Swept out of DC

And now I just have one more day alone in processing. THANK GOODNESS!!! I am so ready to not be alone in there. It’s definitely a two person gig. Ye gods!

The bluetooth in my Powerbook is working properly again. Woohoo! I can take the pictures off my phone and transfer them to my computer. I get excited over the goofiest things, eh?

One more day of work. And it’ll be a short-ish one. We need to take the doggie to the vet so that they can check her ears out. We took the cone off yesterday for the whole night and it’s off again tonight. I think Meggie appreciates the temporary freedom. But she doesn’t like taking her medicine. Poor doggie!

I changed the layout of my Textamerica site. And if you want to see my Rich Harden bobblehead in action, head out there! Anyhoo, sometimes I wonder why I have both a Textamerica and Buzznet account. I like both of them, truly. I just like how with Textamerica you can send video files. Tis totally groovay!

Then there’s baseball…
