Moonlit Jazz

As autumn quickly approaches, the days grow shorter and the nights a little longer. This time of year finds me utterly listless and devoid of any inspiration. It’s as if I have my head down and I’m trudging forward. The routine has taken hold of me, stripped me of much of my imagination. I only seem to catch bits and pieces of possibilities. It’s almost as if the ideas are floating above me, out of reach.

Do you ever feel that way?

Baseball has disappointed me this year and baseball is usually the highlight of my summer. Keeps the doldrums pushed away. Not this year. Not with the A’s. And yet I still love them, my baseball heart ever theirs. I know this is the faith part of being a baseball fan. Faith that the next game, the next day, the next week, the next month, the next season will find them in a better place.

Such is life of a sports fan.

November will come too quickly, bringing with it National Novel Writing Month. I’ve hit the goal two years in a row. Will I do it again this year? I’m hopeful. I know what I’ll be writing. More of the sci-fi epic. My characters await, ready to do my bidding. But they have their own ideas as well and I know that they will push those ideas on me. Hopefully we can work together to make a good story. And yet I wonder if I should drive myself even nuttier and try a whole new adventure. Hmmm. Nah! 😆

I miss writing here. Or maybe I miss writing like this. Actually reaching down and pulling something coherent from my brain to share here. My LJ seems to only touch the surface now. Ah well.

I really love this layout. Dreamplace. So pretty. Plus the colors just catch me. 😉

But what words are worthy of such a layout? Surely more than daily tweets, don’t you think?

I’ve been uploading bunches of digital pictures from days past. It’s been interesting to look back on some of our vacations. I really do long for the air and the skies and the waves of Hawaii. And I hope that when we go out to the East Coast again, I get more pictures. It would be nice to spend more time in Washington DC.

Our first time in Las Vegas… 🙂

It’s a big deal, the NFL season’s first Sunday. Well, for some people. Maybe I’ll watch a game or two today on tv. The husband is on his way to Candlestick Park or whatever they’re calling it these days. 😉

I’m currently uploading pictures from our trip to the East Coast three years ago. Three years! The only pictures I had previously posted were from the wedding we attended. But almost none of the pictures from Atlanta, Baltimore, or Washington DC made it online. The TRAVESTY!
