The moon is bright in the night sky. Full? Officially tomorrow, according to my calendar.

These past two nights, I’ve stepped out of the North/South corridor into the earliest part of night. The moon is somewhere behind me, but what I see is the fringes of daylight. The sun gone, but the sky is an ember of dark blue fading into night. As I walk towards my car, I almost feel as though I’m heading towards the daylight. Can’t I just have one last glimpse? Can’t I watch the sky darken, the stars come to life?

Instead I get into my black car, start the engine, open the windows and the moon roof, and I drive home. The wind blows through my hair and the music from my stereo fills my ears. These days it’s lots of pop music. Tonight, even though the CD player was on random, soulDecision kept playing. And the CD was a mix. Okay, but with a lot of soulDecision. 😉
