The A’s aren’t on tv out here in the Central Valley. GRRRRRRR! But all is not lost in my baseball world. The Cardinals are on and Mulder was pitching until the 6th. It’s the bottom of the 7th and the Cards are up 4-2.

Pitching change.

It’s been a strange couple of days. The father-in-law was in the hospital, but they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. He got to go home today, which was good. And he seemed well enough too.

In the early morning hours, an officer for San Leandro Police was killed in the line of duty. I was a little worried because my cousin works for SL PD and the authorities didn’t release the officer’s name until this afternoon. I was RELIEVED that it wasn’t him, but still very sad for the officer who did die. It scared me, just like it did years ago when a deputy was killed and many of my workmates knew him. (I had only been with the department for two years and I might have seen the deputy in passing, but didn’t remember much about him.) It really hit me when I found out that my favorite deputy was on duty that night and he could have been the one to respond to the call.

They caught today’s shooter. May Justice come swift to him. And my thoughts and prayers with the officer’s family…
