GREAT GAME! Of course, I say that because I WAS THERE. 😀 Dressed in my red Cardinals jersey, Mulder style, we attended the first game of series between the Giants and the visiting Cardinals.
Musings and photos and such…
Touching moment: Mike Matheny receiving his 2004 Gold Glove award. His former manager and teammates greeted him at homeplate for the presentation. It was rather sweet and the only time I cheered for one of the Giants. 😉

Misty…
Mulder moments: Mark had a great game, but floundered a bit near the end of his game. He pulled a groin muscle, so they took him out after the 7th. Otherwise, he did a great job! I don’t know why, but I just didn’t have that “sure” feeling throughout the game. Weird, especially in light of the fact that he played his position quite well, catching two comebackers to end a couple of innings. (I think I have that right.) Oh, and he sucked at the plate. 😆

after the game…
Wearing the visiting team’s gear: When I’m at an A’s game, I HATE being around fans for the visiting team. As the hubby says, I’m a punk about it. I can’t help it, I just hate sitting among, for example, Yankee fans. Drives me up the wall! But I never say anything to my fellow baseball fans, I let my fellas do their job. 😉 (Of course, it kills me when the fans of the visiting teams feel the need to be the punks at the home team fans. Can’t we all just get along?!) That said, I attended this game in Cardinals red. My days as a Giants fan have long since faded away and since my favorite player is now a St. Louis Cardinal, it was time for me to show my NL colors. Giants fans are great (well, this time around)! I did not once get razzed about my outfit and I actually got some compliments (from fellow Cards fans). Only one person commented about the “Mulder” of my jersey, something like, “She’s already got a Mulder jersey.” 😆 Otherwise, an oddly pleasant experience, considering I was a Bay Area chick cheering for the other team. Of course, no one knew I was a Bay Area chick. They probably thought I was from St. Louis. 😛

First three pics: the Cardinals doing their warm up stuff
Last pic: Mulder at the plate 😆
Random musings: First pitch, 7:17pm, as I predicted! The hubby thinks the ball hit the glove at 7:18pm, but it only matters what time the pitch was released, right? 😆 … At first pitch, the ballpark was not full. I’m not sure when it happened, but by the middle of the game, we were considered “sold out” at 41, 405 in attendance. I still saw empty seats, but I guess someone had tickets for them… On our way to the game, the skies were mostly clear and the sun was shining. By game time (which was still daylight), the fog had rolled in and the air had that misty moist feel to it. Made for an interesting view of the game. Swirly mist and such… Our seats (VB 318, row 3, seats 1-4) were right over homeplate. Nice view of the field! I love sitting in SBC Park. It’s just lovely… Besides Mulder, we also got to see Jason Isringhausen pitch! Okay, he made it a bit too “exciting” in the 9th, but he got the save. Woohoo!… Oh yes, the little cute little boy who showed his love for the Giants in the most groovy way is pictured below. Yeah, mohawk and orange. Gotta love it!…
