Slow break of my heart…

I think I’m going to try and get to know the St. Louis Cardinals. I need some sunshine in my baseball life.

The A’s played a day game. I “watched” a bit of it online and felt that oh so faint glimmer of hope when I saw that they scored four in the top of the ninth. Keith Foulke coughed it up and blew the save and was looking like the loser of the game. But we still had the bottom of the inning and in what looked “on paper” like a repeat of last night’s game, Octavio Dotel walked a batter and the walk off homer came after one out.

And so goes my heart, slowing breaking, desperately missing Mark Mulder and Tim Hudson, wishing for the return of the Swish and Bobby boy, wanting to scream at the so called closer, grumbling at the irony of the other closer getting the “win.”

Man, I really do love baseball, eh?

freakin' losing streak sucks Oakland 5, Boston 6
at Fenway Park

Winning pitcher – Keith Foulke (2-3)
Losing pitcher – Octavio Dotel (1-2)

Boston Runs: 6, Hits: 11, Errors 0

Now come home fellas. Rest up! WIN!
