A little split squad action. 😉

THE RUMOR MILL

I should be angry, but I’m not. Annoyed, perhaps. Ultimately, the fault is mine. I probably should have waited until no one was around to tell my two friends about my plans for leaving. As it was, I said something while others were in earshot and it all got blown out of proportion.

No, I did not turn in my two weeks notice.

No, I’m not going to work for the family business.

Yes, I am leaving.

It’s amazing, really, how involved the lies can get. The ONLY part that was right was the leaving part. I can understand that gossip would start to float around, but to have it announced at day shift’s muster that I had turned in my two weeks’ notice is utterly irresponsible and disrespectful. How dare ANYONE say anything when it is not at all official. For all the department knows, I am perfectly content in my current position. It’s not their business that I’m leaving until I hand over my letter or memo of resignation.

Just another reason why I’m leaving.
