Jen, I should be very sad too if the A’s don’t hold onto Chavez. I think I will join you in the crying. It would force me to see the reality of the A’s and I refuse! I keep holding on to the hope that my boys will be together for as long as humanly possible. I’m such a dreamer!

LENT HAS SNUCK UP ON ME
Yes, for those Catholics out there, it’s Lent. As part of my non-practicing Catholic profile, I’ve decided not to give up anything for the 40 days. Actually, I’ve been in a religious quandry of late. Until recently, I’ve kept my religion in the background. It was there, I believed, I didn’t give it much thought. It was just one of those things I accepted in my life, no matter how contradictory or hypocrital the INSTITUTION was. Of course, not going to church and not really practicing helped to keep it all the background.
I will never say that I don’t believe in a higher being or energy. I love the mystery of it. And I believe that if religion guides people to lead good lives, then go for it! But if organized religion “guides” people to believe in discrimination, then how can I accept that? I cannot.
Isn’t it funny that some people in jail claim to “find Jesus?” But once out the door, they leave him behind. I hate to think that the thought of Jesus or anything forgiving and good only lives in the confines of jail cell. What a horrible thought!
And what is faith? What is spirtuality? These are the questions in my mind, when I take the time to think of them…
TV STUFF
Survivor All Stars – Well, I can’t say I’m surprised Richard Hatch got the torch snuff. It was inevitable, of course. But man, I was nervous for my Colby! He really needs to watch his back. And I don’t want to see Ethan go either. Can I just say that even though Boston Rob is arrogant and manipulative, he’s growing on me. 😉 But I didn’t like his comment on Colby (“Colby, yeah,” he later scoffs. “He’s not as tough as you think, ladies.”), even though I did laugh. Horrible! 😛
American Idol – I was very glad for this week’s two winners. I didn’t like that other girl that the judges liked. Neither did the husband. I thought it was awesome she didn’t even make the top three. LOL! Too bad for her. 😛 I’m so mean.
