As I perused my paystub, I was disappointed, but not surprised to find that payroll did NOT fix the mistake from the previous pay period. So let’s see, here’s how it goes:
1. I fill out my timesheet PERFECTLY. No mistakes, one day of vacation. Should be a cake to do, right?
2. For pay stub 2004-01, I am paid for 8 hours of shift differential instead of 80. Probably a human error. I can dig it.
3. I write a memo, as per procedure, addressed to the COMMANDER (la de la). Why to him? Because we are not allowed to call, fax, leave messages, email or otherwise contact payroll. All must be done through him with a memo. So I write my memo.
4. For pay stub 2004-02, I am paid as I should for the pay period, but there is no corrected to the previous error. At this moment, it’s been two weeks since my memo.
5. I write another memo. What are the chances that it will be answered with a correction? Riiight, that’s what I’m thinking. NIL.
Here’s my biggest complaint: I DID NOT make the error. Payroll made the error. But who gets punished by not getting her rightful pay rate? Me. I understand human error, but what is it now? Illegal, I bet. I want to say to them, “Hello, pay me now you freakin’ bastards. If you can’t do your job right, how about going elsewhere? And you, Commander dude, respond to our memos! You expect freakin’ perfection from us, yet if your payroll makes a mistake, we’re just supposed to sit back and wait for them to correct it? Is it right that we have to wait a month or more for someone’s negligence? NO!”
But I’ll never get a chance to say anything of the kind. And it pisses me off!!!
So, F–K PAYROLL! They can kiss my ass!
Shout outs to you all later, when I’m not so steamed about the utter incompetance displayed by the people who figure out our money.
