on the jukebox: “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” by Harry Connick Jr.

Nicole, I first met Karl in 1998 at the Xena Convention in Sacramento (above picture). It was one of my favorite conventions. I was sitting in the first row and we got to just shout our questions out at him from our seats because not many people were in attendance. I was in charge of presenting him with a drawing of him as Caesar. When I have it to him during the autograph line, I asked if I could take a picture with him and he said yes. I leaned closer to him and was surprised when he kissed me. On the cheek! That’s why he looks a bit odd in the picture above. Twas a THRILL! 😉

I last saw Karl in 2001 (above picture). I personally didn’t like his grungy look, but he was great nonetheless. When I finally got around to taking the picture with him (and getting something autographed), he had that “don’t I know you?” look on his face. I’m sure he never figured it out though. 😉
TO MY VERY DEAR FRIEND
I’m so glad that you and your family are all right. And I’m so sad that this terrible thing has happened. I will definitely keep you in my prayers. Stay strong. I know you’ll get through this. And if there’s anything I can do, I’m here…
FRIDAY WAS A BLUR…
When I got this horrible news, my day went into automatic. I kept thinking about my friend and how awful that this happened. I am so glad that she and her family are all right. At first, when our friend started telling me, I thought something happened to her family. I was relieved, then so very sad. I need to do something for her…
