Well, for me anyway.
My A’s ended their season with a three game losing streak, breaking down and collapsing before the Boston Red Sox. The A’s should have won game three. They should have won game four. They had a chance for game five. Right down to the last out. How could they not score with one out and two on? And then the bases were loaded.
And a called strike to make the last out.
The visiting team began celebrating on MY FIELD.
IT’S NOT RIGHT!!!
It’s hard to think of the regular season. It’s hard to think what a wonderful ride it was. All I can think about is Hudson coming out of game four. Byrnes not touching home plate. The interference call that DID NOT turn into a run. Ted Lilly pitching a magnificent game. Ramon Hernandez and his bunt to win game one. Too many downs and not enough ups.
Totally SUCKS!

I watched games three, four, and five up in Lake Tahoe. I’m glad I wasn’t at the Coliseum for game five. I wanted to be there, but I remember what happened last year when I was there. We lost. And so it was the same for this year’s game five.
🙁
And so that closes the books on the A’s for the 2003 season.
Baseball season is OVER…
